Hi Everyone!

I haven't been on YT for a while so I don’t if this info was already shared/posted

My vet informed me that several dog food companies are pulling out of Chewy.com. Which brands affected? As far as i know.. .. Fromm, Tuffy’s, Orijen and Acana.

Chewy.com has not officially released their list yet, but several people that subscribed to their auto ship received an email telling them they’re out of luck.

I wonder why certain foods are pulling out? They should at least give them a chance. I noticed Fromm is gone but acana is still there.

I read that apparently they promised to only sell to independent and small businesses. With PetsMart buying chewy.com. There business model will need to change and that no longer qualifies them as a small/independent business seller.

Luckily for me most of my dog items come from Amazon so I am good. I know a lot of people used and loved Chewy.com.

You can buy them on Amazon and it's not a small business so not sure that holds up.

I have still gotten the great customer service and I know a few people who have also. At this time it doesn't seem like there has been much change.

Zhoie eats Fromm and loves it. I know that Fromm is the one that left Chewy once they were bought out. Fromm doesn't want the big box stores selling their foods.

Except they let amazon sell it so that doesn't make since to me. Its not like chewy is going to turn into petsmart. Oh well its their loss not chewys.

Amazon is not a verified seller of these products/foods. Champion cannot stop individuals who try to sell on Amazon though unfortunately. At least that is what they told me. In other words -- they don't purposely allow their products to be on Amazon.

Chewy is just getting rid of the rest of the inventory and then Champion will not be sold there anymore.

I was so sad about it :( I loved Chewy.com....

Oh, I'm sure money comes into to play somewhere. Fromm canned is definitely pricey per can.

There customer service is still great. I'm still going to buy from them. They may make absolutely no changes so I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out. Give them a chance. They aren't going to turn into petsmart and why is petsmart so bad. Sheesh I don't get people lol.

Because Petsmart is more "corporate". Chewy was always known as an independent retailer with very personalized service like sending letters, Christmas cards, personalized pet portraits, etc. People think this will change. Also, a lot of people don't like Humane Society and PETA and apparently Petsmart are big supporters of this.

I don't even know, these are just reasons I've read. I think it's being turned into a bigger deal than it really is. I'll still continue to use Chewy so long as the service remains the same. I usually support my local pet stores when buying actual food anyway... I usually use Chewy for toys, treats, and other things. I will say my last shipment from Chewy was odd. It came in 3 different shipments on 3 different days and I've NEVER had that happen before so I hope things aren't changing for the worse and it was just a fluke.

Last month my vet was having issues with ordering Callie's prescription food from Royal Canin because Royal Canin was having issues so they called me to tell me and said I could come get a written prescription for the food to try to find it if i needed it bad. So that night kinda late I ordered it from chewy who got the vets info to contacted them well. I wanted to get the paper prescription too have for an emergency so my mom called and picked it up really early (this was Saturday) and when she got back I emailed chewy to see if they got in contact with my vet or needed me to send a picture of my prescription and they already contacted the vet and sent it. They emailed me back within the hour too so I got great customer service and will keep using them. I think its just blown up because people generally fear change.

I agree! I've used Chewy for YEARS and have had nothing but amazing customer service from them. If your dog does not do well with a food or something, they tell you to keep it and donate it and still refund your money... etc. (I think this is one of the reasons they had to be bought out and accept the money, they had been losing money for years, there was an article about it...) But unfortunately when these kinds of things happen, there usually is change.... it takes a while.... but I'm sure little things will start to change with the new ownership. Only time will tell. Like I said, that was the first time I'd ever had 1 order come in 3 different shipments on 3 different days... no idea if it was a fluke or because they were coming from their different warehouses or whatever... but I can only hope they remain as great as they always have been.

I used to order pill pockets from Chewy and a prescription med, as well as toys and other things. One bag of pill pockets had a strange odor to them that was not normal. They refunded my money and also sent me a couple of replacement bags of pill pockets. I don't remember why but they also sent me a free box of the prescription meds. They way over compensated me. I didn't expect that at all. No wonder they were losing money. When you talked to them on the phone they treated you like you were their Number One customer! Great people. Plus their shipping was so fast and I think it was free.
