Home Insurance and Dog breeds https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog...ance-companies "Dog bite related claims accounted for more than one third of all homeowners insurance liability claims paid out in 2013" Wow that is a lot of claims And a quote from the article At that point the agent said that he could not process the insurance application further since his company had blacklisted the Schipperke as being a high risk breed. For those of you who don't know the breed, Schipperkes are small, black, fox-faced little dogs whose height is around 12 inches (30 cm) and weight is around 15 pounds (7 kg) So if you think just because you have a small breed you are safe - Think again |
When I look at this I think if I was going to be a first time dog owner I would get in touch with my insurance company to inquire into what restrictions if any they have on breed of dog covered under the policy. |
I take my Yorkies into my insurance office to pay my insurance bill because they love to see my babies! Not sure how we started talking about Yorkies one day but we did and they asked me to bring Teek in next time. Then I got Rowan so I took him in. He goes in and shows off his tricks for them and they will call the agents out there to watch Rowan's show! So glad my insurance agency loves my Yorkies like that. |
