Dog seat belts We have a seat belt for our baby Sammi and always have had since he was a puppy anyways we were out and about last week when a car stopped dead in front of us and we hit this car we were going about 25 mph and it was a substantial bump I'm so glad we had Sammi on his seat belt as he would have been thrown forwards and it doesn't bare thinking of what state he would have ended up in What's your impressions of doggie seat belts ? |

I bought a special one with a strong carabiner on it to use with our snoozer car seat. It is very important to have you dog restrained some way in the car whether just a seat belt thing, a car seat or a crate. Over here in some states it's the law. |

I totally agree everyone should have them restrained I've lost count how many dogs I've seen jumping around in a car while it's been driven It states in the uk all dogs should be restrained but unfortunately a lot are not |

Our dog hates a short restraint to the point of injuring herself to escape. So we use a leash with a seatbelt so she has some wiggle room but is not free to roam. As she's gotten older she relaxes in the car, so it might be a good time for us to try again. I agree that avoiding injury in the care is very important. |

Duchess hates car seats, she likes to move around in the car so I got her the doggy seat belts.......she loves it. She still has the freedom to move around a little while being safe and secure in the car. I buckled her up in the back seat but I've attached an extender on it so she move around in the back seat. She loves to alternate between sleeping on the floor of the car and sleeping on her pillow. It also allows her to jump on the center console. I love it because she doesn't get car sick as much and she is less anxious. She hates riding in the car but she is definitely getting better. |

Love the seat belts. Chewie has one. Unfortunately he doesn't do too well in the back on his own with the seatbelt. He likes to be wherever I am so we've gone to getting him used to a crate and his crate is fastened into the front passenger seat so he's up front with me and he's much better. He travels with me to work every day so glad we found something he's happy in. |
