Rescue Yorkie Hi everyone, I am new here. I have adopted a 6 year old male rescue Yorkie. We have had him for a few days, his behaviour is generally good but he shows aggressive over food and chews. The centre did warn us and said to stop it as soon as he starts. Any advice welcome |
When they said stop it, I do hope they didn't mean to be harsh. That will only compound the problem. Focus on methods of training that are positive..... https://positively.com/dog-behavior/...urce-guarding/ http://theloveddog.com/ |
Hi Lady Jane. They said a firn 'no'. He had been rehomed and they returned him because of his aggressive behaviour towards the families older children. We have no kids and most of the time he is very loveable. I think he gets overly excited with his toys, he growls when we play with him. I stop playing when he how's signs of aggression towards me. Also he doesn't like visitors, he barks and growls. I think he is being territorial. |
I think I would work with a trainer. |
