My yorkie has sezuries Does anyone have a yorkie that has sezuries and how do you treat them. The vet said it would be at least $1,000. I don't have that kind if money. |
I would get a second opinion. Also sign up for Care Credit to help with the vet bills. They offer no interest for a period of time. |
If you can't get care credit or some other way to pay for it you might want to look at surrendering him to a yorkie rescue that could get him the meds he needs. You can't not treat it. |
Im sorry. If its a puppy it may be due to low blood sugar and just feeding often and giving nutrical may be enough. If its an adult could be all kinds of things. Seizure meds have to be checked by several blood tests at the beginning to get correct dosage. The cost depends on the diagnosis If its a liver shunt it could be far more than $1000. Vet prices vary greatly by location, but also between vets so might try another. |
There are many reasons for seizures ... how old is your pup? How frequent are the seizures? What is your vet saying will cost $1,000? |
