I am completely angry, furious and enraged at these poop bags
 

Hey guys long story short. When i got the dog i bought some poop bags and they came in single color rolls with different colors. The last few rolls all of the bags appeared to be cut. I didnt do it. Nor did i open the bags with sharp object. All seem cut with a knife. Its a clean cut.


I am becoming really mad to not say the other word because i bought new bags by different store and same thing. The last rolls are broken. THe bag that contains the bag isnt even cut or broken... And it really angers me because i used one and touched pooped with my fingers.

The bags are there so you dont touch the poop directly with your hand. I feel like sending a formal complaint to the companies and the store because either they're messing up somehow or someone is cutting them either intentionally or unintentionally. The cut is that of a box cutter.


Is there anywhere i can get these bags without them being damaged? Like i want a 100% guarantee it wont happen. Her poop was a bit mushy because i gave her pb so i had it all over me.

Sorry for venting. Just buying two different packages and same stuff happen.

The packages are thick plastic and dont need to be cut to open.:.

I would go back to the stores where you purchased both of them, I am sure other ppl have complained. Also write to the company and give name and address of store, copy of receipt would be very helpful also.

I personally like Earth Rated poop bags, they seem to never break on me. I get them on amazon.

Are they both from the same company? If it's not cut on the outside of the package it has to be the company. You can call or email them.

With all the stuff we buy not sure if i can find a receipt or the bag they came in. Id know which it was because it was the best priced one

When you buy anything for the dog put the receipt in your pocket and save it in case you have to return anything.

There is no cut or tear on the outside of the package. Buying something so i dont touch dog s**t and then it either breaking or turned out broken already leading me to physically touch fecal matter with my own flesh is enough to yell at the company or the petstore- whoever is responsible.

They were cheap but not 1 dollar cheap. They were 4-6 rolls for 5-7 bucks. I think 2 blues, 2 yellows, 2 reds.


The other one was just all blues i think. I got the all blues from petsmart, the second one was from walmart.


Really really angry. Mostly because i just find highly unsanitary things off putting and I guess i wouldnt cut it to be a nurse or something...

Yeah been learning this recently. I admit im a tad unorganized with receipts. If its a receipt less than 10$ i usually toss it. BUt still. I am going to find the companies and complain and if i have to be one who leaves negative reviews i will. The sole intent of the bag is to not sully my hands with droppings.

I might do that too. Because if either of them screw me over I can make a racket over it easier. As the proof of purchase is always with email receipt.


I opened a bag and put my hand in it and it started to tear. I don have sharp or long nails. I dont wear jewelry. I am gentle when i open them.

Now i want something thats proclaimed to be sturdy

lol I have been peed on, pooed on and thrown up on by my oldest through out her life. When I started my vet assistant classes they said if you can't take poo, pee or vomit it's not for you and I have been there done that. The first time was when she was a puppy and threw up on me I took my clothes off in the front yard after that I got better. She was sedated for X-rays one time and I was holding her and she peed all down the front of me and I was just like alrighty can we hurry this up so I can go home and change and wash. As a puppy she had diarrhea where she thought she was passing gas but diarreah all the way down the front of me! If it was just on the inside I think it got messed up in the factory and they probably didn't even know so you could call them and tell them and they might give you coupons or send you new ones.

I just recycle used Walmart plastic shopping bags. You invert the bag over your hand, grab the poop through the bag with your fingers, and then re-invert the bag back to normal with the poop inside. I've never had any problems with them breaking, and even better, they are free.

I second that... we've been using these for 4 years without a problem. We get the 60 rolls pack that comes with 2 free bag holders. They come with the choice of scented or unscented.

I do the same and also ask the grocery store baggers to double-bag everything. (Not unreasonable as bags are thin and can break on my way to the car or into the house.) We haven't run out yet!

I've been pooped on by a rabbit before, a frog, and I have been urinated by same rabbit, puked by the dog we have now.


I just do not like poop. I don't know what it is, but it feels nastier to me than being vomitted.

plastic shopping bags tend to break easily or have holes in them.

I have been peed on by a hamster too lol.

They don't tear at all, in my experience. And you check for holes before you use them. I've never had a shopping bag fail during poop collection. If the bag can carry several pounds of canned goods with hard edges, it can carry a several-ounce soft "nugget."

Same here, even with the small holes in the bottom. I carry a couple, after I collect the poop, I knot the bag then put that one in another bag if I am talking walks. Never had a bag fail nor have I gotten poop on my hand.

The thing with shopping bags is, they've been tried and proven. They made it back from a store actually carrying something larger than a "nugget" without failing. I've read reviews of the commercial dog poop bags and the problem is, if you get a bad batch, they're all bad. It seems to be a manufacturing flaw where the seams are not sealed properly. The only solution is to save receipts and return the defective merchandise. If you order online, that can be difficult. That's why I just use shopping bags--they are free, and the seams are not going to tear if they made it back from the store carrying merchandise.

Scottie has peed on my mom and had diarrhea on me before too! Never in my life did I expect my dog to diarrhea on me while I was driving. He kept screaming...and I put him on my lap. By the time I reached the nearest highway exit to the nearest gas station. The crap was all over me. Worse day everrr!

Yes, I will "third" the Earth Rated bags - they are good quality!

I don't think you're alone - most people hate poop! I know I would hate to touch it too. I always feel like some of it might have gotten on me, even when the bags were there to protect my hands. So your slashed bags is like my worse nightmare!

Anyway, I have used Earth Rated bags and they haven't failed me yet. I have also used the poop bags they sell at Costco. The quality isn't as good, but they cost significantly less - so far so good. :thumbup:

Honestly I feel like a jerk for this but when maggie threw up on the car, the first thing I did (kind of a reflex) was to push her somewhere else to throw up, so she instead of throwing up on me, she threw up on my mothers side of the car. I felt really bad but part of me felt happy because I feel like at that moment maggie actually understood fully well what I didn't want. She only ever puked on me once in the car and not on me directly or my clothes. When she was ready to throw up the next 5 times I aimed her at the floor far from my feet.

Man could she barf.

Anyways, I hate plastic bags that you have to use your hands to scoop it up with because while there is a barrier I don't know if you guys ever noticed that when you pick up the poop the bag feels either moist or cool or something and it just feels flipping weird and gross. I like the idea of a pooper scooper(poop n' scoop?) but my siblings say that's more so anti-hygienic.

We have a little trash can outside for the poop bags and while they're always tied off. Sometimes... I sort of miss hitting the trash can and it lands on the ground near just having to go pick it up again infuriates me even more.

So yeah poop time is stress time for me.


I have been however teaching her to do her business in one specific area. Like she has mentally a 2ft x 2ft (or 3ft by 3ft) space for doing her business.
