These little dorkies!!
 

Before I start, I b ought Chewie two pigs from petsmart- the toysrus brand they have. She's skinned both of them, and I can't find her any replacements. That being said..

I bought her two lovies, one at easter- a little bunny, and a snow owl from Vegas, that i had to actually get into it with from the small little bird preserve worker to buy. The other day, my daughter is cuddling and she's cooing over how "adorable" Chewie is being. I kept asking if she was okay, would check, and I wasn't paying much attention to what she was saying. she was saying oh, she's being so lovey with the bunny!!! and Aww, now she's "loving" on the owl. THAT got my attention and I said, E, DUDE, check that owl. That is not her loving it at all, she's SKINNING IT!!! Check the bunny, too! Well, she looked and... Yep, she was busily pulling out the stuffing on owl, and bunny's poor squeaker was out of commission and half out. I went halfway down the stairs and I just lost if laughing. Chewie had her dominating ears on and was tugging on it- hard. She WON, too! The she growled, gave a final dominating pose and ran off under the bed! I pulled the stuffing out, put the noise maker in the head, and closed the owl. Wish us luck.

First, our pup really became agitated with squeakers. So I poked holes in the squeakers because it stimulated aggressive instincts I didn't want around grandkids, guests, or other animals. We gave her toys with bells and rattle sounds that stimulated fun play without the aggressive behavior of trying to silence the toy. Now that she's older, she's fine with squeakers and actually kind of ignores them.


Second, after a mini-dachshund and cleaning up fluff for 13 years and finding once she learned her bed had stuffing it became fair game. So, now our little yorkie comes home. No stuff, not fluff here. Not doing that again! So, we buy https://www.amazon.com/ZippyPaws-Ski...ys+no+stuffing She loves these toys. I poked out the squeakers as I said but they were great of grabbing in her mouth and shaking, playing tug of war (careful of those little teeth) and long enough that if the dog tries to move up the toy, there's room to spare. So no accidental nips.

As you can tell, we've been through more than a dog toy trial-and-error or two. But these are our favorites, hands down.

PS. I loved your title - dorkies! We call our little girl's top knot her "dork." Cuz sometimes it looks a little dorkie :) Only a yorkie owner knows that's a compliment!

OMG I am hysterical here, just the vision alone, been there with my devil dog pups lol, I had so many stuffed little animals given to me from friends,instead of bows on gift packages they tied on little doggies. One day I decide to give my middle fur child a couple because she loved stuffed animals and was very gentle with them, the baby who was 9 months old, ripped it away from her and skinned it in minutes, growling and snarling while killing it, it was the funniest thing lol. Soooo, no more stuffed toys because of the lil killer devil dog. Sorry for laughing but just too funny. That's a yorkie for ya lol.

Sounds all too familiar. My Tibbe, a 7 lb. hulk, doesn't tear up his toys or shred anything - he's more about things I'm doing or we're doing together, not much into toys that aren't the interactive type, where he has to solve the puzzle to get a treat or make it squeak or whatever. So unlike my late Jilly. Tiny, delicate little 3 lb. runt-of-the-litter, Jilly, used to tear up every toy she had, whatever it was made of. If it could be destroyed, her tiny teeth eventually did it & she was left with shreds or pieces and the squeaker or the stuffing that she wasn't that interested in but still acting SO satisfied with her 'work'. Jilly would chew on a chewie right straight through, until it was gnawed away, swallowed up and gone, if I forgot and left one lying about when I wasn't here, so I immediately learned not to do that a second time! She made her mouth raw chewing one completely up the first time I left her with it. She had a kind of dedicated mania to tear up or deconstruct whatever I gave her to play with. She and Tibbe are about as different as night from day.
