Random Shih Tzu walking down the street Hey guys. I was in the old house finishing some stuff and this random shih tzu approached me. It was without its owner. I dont think I saw (or heard) a collar on it... When I came back to pick it up to see if I could find its owner(s) or bring it to a shelter (or vet) to get scanned... (if microchiped) it wasnt there... I ended up calling the local police department (as that's where I got transferred when I tried to call the local animal control) and explained the situation. They took down my number and name... and where the dog was last seen. So I decided to take my dog and walk her around for a last time, and when I go forward to a few houses down the road I noticed the shih tzu was out and about... Turns out someone left the door to their yard open..... carelessly.. and this is the same house with the bunch of kids (4-6-10y rs old) who tend to pet our dogs without even asking... SO I assume it might be the owners' house. I left the dog alone as it showed signs of aggression... (It followed us and tried to bite my dog- which for once she was terrified). Not sure if the dog was intact or not, I dont remember looking at it that much. However I do know it was staying around the front yard. To be honest, I hope the officer got to it first so they can look into it... |
Poor dog. Hope everything works out for him or her. |

I mean I didn't dare to pick up the dog because I like to avoid issues with owners and you know being bit by a strangers' dog doesn't sound fun. I did however went to the house, the front door was open(but the screen wasn't opened) , the yard gate was opened-- I however didn't know if this dog was their dog because the people there have like a bunch of kids ranging from toddler, to almost a pre-teen and the kids from what I noticed aren't very educated on dogs or nice to them... Whenever I walk down through that area they start following my dog trying to get close with their bikes (and I end up having to pick her up out of fear of them running onto her and end up telling them to keep some distance with the bikes), I've seen them get close to other peoples dog-- but they seem to have a reputation as people generally avoid letting their dogs be pet by them. Not really sure what's what... since I don't really speak to any of the neighbors or before owning the dog go out to the neighborhood much but it's just from what I observed. They do seem to be scared(or at least cautious enough to avoid) the larger dogs... She's always growling at them anytime they get too close to her as well... Either way, if it isn't their dog I'd still rather have animal control or whatever pick that dog up and do procedures to find the owners and contact them about it. Over here, I think it's illegal to have a dog off leash outside of your yard-- but I don't think whomever' dog it was would face penalties as it was probably an accident.... Still they should look into it. I felt bad for the dog. |

I am not very fond of kids either for that reason. I at least hope my niece ends u better. Then again my brother is strict and wouldnt let it slip. Still i trust no one under 12 to play with a dog. Unless the individual was gentle which nowaday i cant really trust either. We just got her some vaccines she was missing and too many large dogs and kids. She growled at everyone of them except the small shih tzu. |
Now that i rememer... The lost shih tzu looked exactly the same as the one an older teen had in the vets office... Odd though as the vet is 30-40 mins away from that house |
