Collar or harness? Hey guys, I just wanted to ask which one do you guys preferred to use? And for what reason do you prefer one over the other? |
Most smaller dogs do better with a harness. |
When my pup did her dog obedience, the trainer insisted on a collar. but I find a harness MUCH safer because she's a real wiggle worm. |
Harness only, collar for tags only. NEVER walk a yorkie on a collar as they are prone to collapsed trachea. |
They should always have a collar on with an Id tag but when your going to hook them to the leash put a harness on too and use that to hook the leash to. |

We had a harness for my mother's dog and we used to use it like you just said because she had a tendency to slip. Not anymore, but you know pups. Sounds like a good idea. Would it even hurt the trachea if you pull on it though? That's the important part, as others said yorkies are prone to collapsed trachea |

I think small dogs in general are prone to that right? I thought it was just chihuahuas but I guess I am wrong. |

I use collars at all times for ID (+ micro chip), and then harness for walking. |

Technology like that I think is already available or not far off in that size and all I mean. But I highly doubt I could build something that sophisticated myself. Just the idea sounds nice. |

Love the picture of her poking her head out of a carrier bag. Also what's that thing that you put in the zippers? Looks like a clip. If one was to be traveling via air - I would think a harder carrier would be required, or preferred. Still, I have seen really crafty dogs find themselves out of a really tight harness... Our dog when she was a crafty pup who had more of that "pup power" , she would escape collars, and harnesses... Eventually I'd put the two together(clipped together) so if it gets out of one she couldnt the other. But somehow she could still find her way... Crafty little hoodini... Good thing we were in the backyard when it happen... That is what concerns me... How do you keep a houdini from removing it's harness? Is the buddy belt snug enough that you can't escape from it? How do you figure out sizes? I doubt 1 size fits all.. |

Your callie is a crafty little bugger, ain't she? Quite a beaut. |
Both. Just attach the harness for walks. The collar is good for easy I'd and more comfortable to wear in general. |

Here you go. There are already apps that will do this. |

Definitely harness. Never put a collar around a Yorkie's neck. They have trachea problems. |
