This community is all about the dogs. Their health and safety, not just for our pups, but for all pups. If this community seems "extreme" over the heath of all dogs it's because we as care givers speak for our babies, make decisions on the health and safety of these babies, this community puts their experience, advise, suggestions out there for everyone, it is up to them to research and decide what is best for their fur kids. Because this "extreme" community cares.

Outdoor bugs absolutely do not honor barriers or knock on doors for permission to come in.

All I'm saying is check your dog each time he comes in the house. Maybe you live in a bug infested area. I have never even had an ant or a spider in my home ever. End of story. Too many chiefs not enough Indians I notice. When one has a special degree in Yorkshire terrier college, then I may agree.

YEP!!! ABSOLUTELY correct!!!

to the poster that stated that it was stretching it that they were in the house? the tick on my daughter's stomach that she got after showering before a dance performance would beg to differ with you. :D

Right. My older girl had three different knee surgerys, allergies, IBD and Ct now arthritis so we joke that one of the exam rooms should be named after us.

LOL! You should see me now when Daughter comes home with the backpack- she got the little "bugger" from a girl at school who has around 6 (according to the girl) already this year. I feel like I conduct an FBI worthy search each afternoon. :rolleyes:

I looked up ticks and they do not simply enter your home. They have to be riding on your dog or a human. I am very sorry about your daughter having to go through that scary experience. Glad she noticed it in the shower. And I hope she had the best time ever! Ticks are truly scary but I never had an issue with all my dogs or myself. That being said please don't all jinx me this summer!!
I wouldn't wish it in anyone especially our poor dogs who don't know..:(

Before we moved almost five years ago my dog was a magnet. I swear she must have had a million every year never contracted anything but ugh. I want to do tracking with my 1 year old that's the biggest reason I'm debating the Lyme shot because for that we will be going through fields and the woods and stuff. At my house we have three acres and the only real trees are at the property line and our fenced in part of the bck yard is right in the middle and the dogs don't really seem to be getting any.

I'm not going to engage in insults and snark with you. And hopefully no one else will either.

Here is the bottom line: you are more than welcome to believe that bugs don't come indoors. If that's the world you live in, that's just fine.

But, we're not going to enable that belief here, end of story.

If you're unable to accept that without insulting people, then we'd ask you to find a community that believes in the same bug situation that you do. It's really that simple. If you can't be respectful, then please step away from here and come back when able. Thank you.

I never said that bugs don't come indoors it's just that it's never happened to me. And I'm not snarky I say it as it is. And I've been insulted on here but I brush it off. I am not fluffing things. I say it like it is some women have a problem with that. Now get back to Yorkie talk.

As far as the nasty remarks, the next insult or snark you throw at anyone here will get you suspended or banned. You're not "telling it like it is" - not in the least. You're telling dog owners unsafe and untrue information that can put dogs in danger and then you're wrapping it up with sarcastic remarks - that's what you're doing here.

Thanks that helps. The only other ones he gets is the Distemper and Kennel Cough ever 6 months because I get them groomed and it is required.
