Need to check references- no idea what to ask! Just for dog walking. Uh- It's not like a job interview. He provided me his dog assistant job number, and his long term walker client. What in the heck do I ask? Is he prompt, is he a go-getter isn't exactly dog walking questions. I feel silly, but I know I need to be careful. I tried neighborhood kids first, and then decided I'd feel better with an adult with experience. Any suggestions on questions??? |
You could also find a walker thru Rover...did you try that yet? Then they'd have some reviews. I walk dogs 2x a week, 3 hrs at a time at the shelter - and so what *I* (stress, me!) would look for in a walker is: -- they always carry an extra leash -- carry pepper spray or citronella spray for any dangerous stray dogs -- carry treats -- carry phone -- understand small dogs' needs (ie, harness etc) And if you wanted - ask them to text you a pic of them walking too, nothing wrong with that. :) |

One more thing to ask is if its with a company are they insured and bonded. This way if anything happens to your dog while on the walk they have insurance to cover the incident. Ask for a meet and greet as well to make sure your dog and the walker get along. |
