Had no choice I will be picking up my Yorkie soon but I also have several doctor appointments about three days afterwards and afraid to leave him alone for a couple hours so soon. Has anyone left pretty quickly for a couple hours after a few days and puppy was alright? He's 11 weeks old and will have everything he needs. Just can't bare if he cries..:( |
He'll be just fine. I assume you're crating him with food, water, pee pad and some toys. He will be ok. |
Oh this puppy will be so spoiled! He has three beds, toys, blue cage for boy, good food, I did the Wellness since it was number one after Fromm which I hear is very good. Can't do Blue after all the hype about it. I just get nervous because I don't want to cause stress on him. will he cry hysterically? :( |
When we brought Sunny home he didn't cry at all; some dogs adjust well, and right away. |
Sounds like he will be one spoiled little boy. It's hard to say if he will cry or not. I got all my puppies when they were 8 weeks old, I worked all day, my puppies were alone for 9 hours in a confined area with all that they needed, they did not cry. I lived in a pvt. house with the landlady living downstairs, I had the apt. above her. If the puppy cried she would have heard her and would have told me. Don't worry about it, you will be gone only a few hours, and when you get back home DO NOT make a BIG fuss over him. Act the same way as when you were home all day with him. You do not want to cause any separation anxiety by making a big fuss over him when ever you leave him alone. |

It's actually best to start getting them used to you leaving for a few hours as soon as you can. |
Whenever you leave, don't make a big deal out of it. Like, don't do the sad voice (because I know how hard it is to leave them home at first). Best if you don't say anything at all. And just go. Reason is, if you do the sad voice, he'll sense it, and will learn that when you leave, it's like something bad. The last thing you want is for him to develop separation anxiety. Keep him occupied with toys in his safe enclosed space. He'll be fine!! |
Funny how I got him today and he has been an angel. And I have three beds for him, one in his crate with a peep pad so what does he do? Peep in the bed. Funny, he probably doesn't know which side is the bed. I don't know why he did that, I need to wash the bed so he won't go in it again. Love him. |
Omg his first poop was on a peepee pad!!! Who does that!! Love my yorkie wow! At only 11 weeks old! |
Congrats on your new baby. Pooping on the pad, this is exactly why it is advised to not take a baby at 8 weeks old. Between 8 weeks and 12 weeks old the momma is teaching the babies bite inhibition, human momma is pad training, both human and fur momma's are training these babies. Now don't get upset if he should not use the pads all the time, remember, you, your home, sounds, smells are all new to him, there may be accidents. Sounds like you are both off to a great start. |
