Microchipping I was notified by VIP vet services that scanning microchips is not a written law; in fact, they are to ask the pet owners if it is ok to scan their dogs because they don't want to upset the "owners" wouldn't that be too suspicious? a real pet owner would be ok with letting them scan their babies! So, why did I even bother microchipping my babies? Help me change the law! get in touch with senators bring this up to who ever has authority over law making in the USA; I too thought that I would never be victim of dog theft, but it happened. Help me create and enforce the scanning law! |
Are you sure that's the law everywhere? I think my vet checks for chips without asking. |
I was told by my vet, if they get a new client they scan the dog, now I don't know if they do this in front of the person, some shots they will take the dog out of the exam room, but this is cause for concern. I hope you get your baby back. |
When we got a new vet, scanning the chip was part of the intake. |

Really hope you get your baby back. And hope he's safe... |
Vets on a microchip/rescue/find programs are gonna try and check for micro-chipping. If anything, if you suspect the person who has your dog, does, then you have the chance to prove it. It may not be the most best option up front but it's the best option when it comes down to proving your ownership. |
