Pet Insurance Pre-Existing Conditions? So happy I finally heard back from the rescue and I am getting Bella next week. I plan on getting her pet insurance my issue is that she has no previous medical records apparently so I will need to get her a wellness check asap for a baseline. With the pre-existing conditions issue I was thinking of just doing a wellness check with no blood work or urinalysis right away. Than a month later take her in again and do a full blood panel that way if anything shows up it will be covered. If I notice anything I will just play dumb with the insurance and say I just saw the issue start so that is why I am bringing her in and had blood work. I do hope there is no issues that pop up on the blood work but one will never know. I was looking for other opinions in this matter. I was hoping the rescue group would have copies of medical records but that is not the case apparently. |
We got Daisy from a rescue, but she is only 6mos old. I have Wall-e already covered and recently added Daisy to he insurance, letting them know that the only paperwork I have for her is her spay certificate and rabies certificate. They didn't question it. |

Worse case I will just take her to any vet get a wellness exam. Some in my neighborhood offer free first time visits and then take her to my own vet after all the waiting periods. |
Make sure you ask the specific ins company if they *require* the knees (patellas) to be checked for LP in yorkies, as some do. |

Does anyone know what the ASPCA clinic record includes? Apparently, that is what will be given to me according to the recue group. I called the Insurance Company and they will not take the spay certificate. They need to the records to list the basics that she was seen by a vet and all organs are healthy. For the knee waiver I asked what needs to be listed in the records and she needs to be seen by a vet within 30 days of the insurance and have it specifically state knees healthy and stable. I am hoping she has no issue with luxating patella. She is much smaller than Thumper so I am more nervous for her. Thumper has it but has no issue or pain that is why I did not get him the waiver and am just waiting the six month period. |
