Teething Question 1 Attachment(s) My Copper is 6 months old and from what I have read on line he should be well into having his permanent teeth is that accurate? I can not seem to tell. There does not appear to be any missing and we haven't found any teeth. However his bottom teeth look exactly like the picture I attached. Is that normal and should I be concerned Attachment 411084 |
He has double canines and if they don't fall out they will need to be pulled. Normally when you get your pup neutered between 6 to 9 months you can have the vet pull the baby teeth at the same time. |
It's great if you can see all the permanent teeth, but a lot of times some are still hidden inside the gums. I could be wrong, but the permanent teeth may show up earlier at 6 months in larger dogs - they have more space in their mouth. With Yorkies' small mouths, it's often that the teeth have no room to come out. With both of mine, I had their baby teeth removed during their neuter / spay surgeries at 8 months old, which seems to be a very common thing to do. |
