Max fell down the stairs He tumbled down the stairs last night and I wasn't sure if he fell or the box he was playing with came down. But when he wouldn't go up the stairs I noticed he was not putting weight on his back leg. He's usually playful at bedtime but curled right up to sleep so I knew he must have been part of the commotion coming down the stairs. But he was whining or crying when I picked him up afterwards so I thought he was ok. This morning he was walking on the leg, eating, going outside and even asking to play fetch ( but I thought no way just in case) If this was your puppy would you take him to the vet tomorrow for X-rays and a look see to be sure he is ok? |
I would wait and see how he is doing in the morning. If you notice anything off take him to the vet...Lynn :doghop::dogsm2: |
Me,I am a RUN to the vet gal lol, but in a case such as this I would watch him carefully today, NO FETCH, NO zooming, If he's not limping he may have just sprained it a lil bit. |
I suppose you should keep an eye on him for a few days but they can hide things so well. I would have a vet check to be better safe than sorry. I say this because when I first got my Joey he was a daredevil and jumped off the back porch lickety split. He seemed alright and I did keep an eye on him and he continued to run and play just fine. He never from a high place again though. Through the years I have noticed some strange happenings in his legs when I pick him up to brush his teeth when I turn him on his one side. And his one back leg seems to quiver or something when he is on the kitchen counter so I rub his leg and lower back and he seems to be better. Was it that jump he made 6 years ago as a pup or some other reason. If I had it to do over I would take him in to be checked. Just my view. Hope for the best! |
