Wiping my Yorkie Frequently, when my wife's Yorkie decides to go to the bathroom (too often inside of our house), we have to wipe its bottom as it will leave marks when it sits on things if we don't. We've tried trimming the hair with the groomer back there and other things, but nothing seems to work. Diet is kibble and boiled hamburg. Any advice? |
We also have to blot Bella or she will drip every where we don't have to with our other girl you could ask your Vet about it . |
The vet just says to wipe it but I hate doing it. Is there like a diaper or something I could use? |
I use those wet baby wipes on my Yorkies when that happens. |

Grooming. I use clippers to shave around anus and from anus out to the sides. I scissor very short the underside of his tail. I truly have only had a problem when one of my dogs gets diarrhea. Then it is into the bath we go |
I was talking about when she pees not poo. |
Meh. A little pee dribble here and there never hurt anything; then again, my furniture is to sit on and use, not for show. I'm sure I've left worse marks with worse stuff throughout my life. It is odd, however, that Yorkies don't seem to have the sense to "clean" themselves. I'm definitely not a cat person, but I can't ding them on their meticulous hygiene that dogs seem to lack. TC, I would suggest just dabbing with a few squares of TP. You don't need to wipe anything. Just dab. |
After Emma goes outside she isn't allowed on the furniture, I have a mini waiting period so her feet/lady bits can dry. But wiping her bottom, I don't have to do that because her stools are firm and formed. In the event she has loose stools, she goes to the bath, which is very rare. To the Original Poster, anal glands could be clogged, so you can have these expressed by your groomer or vet. This would help with the scooting and possible staining on your carpet and furniture. And if the stools are loose, talk to your vet about your yorkies diet so you firm it up a bit. |
I grab a paper towel, soak it w/warm water and she gets a quick little sponge-bath, as my mom calls it. Piper is very wet, but very clean and it's quick! Dare I ask why "IH8Yorkies"? |

I was wondering the same... I hate Yorkies is a strange screen name. :/ |
It sounds to me like the poo must be mushy if it smears. So, you must switch foods bc some ingredient isn't agreeing w/ his system. What are you feeding...? Rather inconsiderate, btw, that you are on a YORKIE board with a name like "I Hate Yorkies"...but are asking for help. I assume this is your modus operandi / what makes you feel good as a person though, so, okay. |

He is, he first used the name of "yorkieH8ter" replied to several threads in a cruel, mean manner, he was reported, posts were deleted and I assume banned, now I see he is back using IH8Yorkies. Glad that everyone has finely realized what this user name means. |
I didn't even catch that or I would't have even responded . |
