Thundershirt question Has anyone used a thundershirt for anxiety? Online I saw both a Classic Style and Polo Style. I am not sure of the difference. I was gonna go with the classic style just because it was about $20.00 cheaper but if the Polo is better for anxiety I will get that one. Right now melatonin and benedryl do not work for Thumper. He is separated today all day from his brother and for the past two hours alone he has been nonstop barking. I spoke to the vet regarding meds for him but he said they take a while to kick in. Once I figure out my next steps with Boomer I will ask the vet again about Thumper's anxiety. |
Aww...sorry to hear about Thumper's anxiety! I don't have experience with the thundershirt. I've used melatonin before and it worked for Scottie's nighttime barking. And it's true that it does take time for it to kick in. Poor baby... hope he's doing better soon! Just curious, but does he only have anxiety when his brother is not around? If that's the case, maybe after today, try spending more one-on-one time with each of them separately so they don't get too attached and become anxious when the other is not around. For the thundershirt thing, how about wrapping a shirt or something around his body tightly? I read that it's the tight feeling around their body that makes them feel better. |
This discussion was recent. The shirts help both of my boys. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...er-shirts.html |
