Help with out new Yorkie pup! I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this. We recently got our first Yorkie pup. She's 9 months old already and weights 3.5lbs. We got her on Monday and she's getting along with everyone in the house but my boyfriend. She growls at him and tries to attack him. We really don't know her history the lady I got her from said she was pad trained and a vaccinated but never gave me any paperwork or helped me get hold of the vet she was seeing. So now we have this pup that we all love and my boyfriend is the only one who can't enjoy her because she trembles in fear and tries to attack him. Is there anything we can do to stop her from doing this? |
Have him talk to her in his softest baby voice he has & find a treat that she loves & have HIM give her the treats. He can NEVER raise his voice to her or around her. It sounds like she has been abused OR tormented by a male & it may take awhile for her to trust a male again but with gentle persistence, she should come around to your BF. AND, Welcome to YT ! :) |

You took the words right out of my mouth. Just want to add a bit of playing with her also, just roll a ball let her chase it or what ever her fav. toy is, lots of gentle praise from BF if she goes for the ball or toy . Persistence and lots of patience are key factors. |
