Scam I was a product of a scam. Johnson's T Cup Yorkie's Breeders Cindy Johnson and her husband have a great looking website that shows all these beautiful miniature teacup Yorkie's. I chose one for my wife to get as a surprise for Christmas present. You really want to believe in people as being a Christian but I made a huge mistake for not running a background on her before I tried to purchase. I am totally embarrassed and humiliated. I am sending this as a warning for anyone else so they won't be scammed like I was. She promised that for $499 that I would have the dog sent by courier to my front door. I asked her to ship her out 11/30 and I received an email from the freight company immediately that they needed $750 to insure the dog before she left for Texas. She said she was unaware of this but it would be great to have her insured and the freight would be refundable. I told her that it is impossible. She can pay for that $750 and it and as soon as the delivery was made I would send it back to her. Cindy said she didn't have that kind of money. I told her you have $490 to start with that you can help pay with that. Haven't heard back since. Now I have no dog that I paid for and they are still scamming people. BEWARE OF THESE BREEDERS! CINDY JOHNSON and her husband and her family ARE CROOK'S! May God have mercy on their souls. Merry Christmas everyone! |
Thank you for sharing that story in order to help others, and yes, like you I wish to believe the best in others, but dang! In these day and age it's just not possible. I am so sorry this happened to you, but you shouldn't beat yourself up; it's over, you learned, you're helping others and those are good things. I hope, hope, hope you're still able to adopt or purchase a Yorkie for your wife---such a wonderful gift. Others on this site can offer advice and direction in searching out a reputable agency or breeder. |

If looking for a pup you MUST DO YOUR RESEARCH. |
One thing I learned from this site is that a lot of breeders who advertise "T cup" yorkies are more interested in the money than the health of the dog. You might avoid a lot of potential scams by staying away from any breeders who promise T cups. |
EVERY PUPPY on their web site is a copy and paste from other breeders. The picture they have of the person who is supposedly their mentor most certainly is not. WHY OH WHY DON'T PEOPLE DO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING. There are many, many complaints against them. |
Not sure if this is the same Cindy Johnson, but back in 2005 I purchased a female pup from a woman with that name. She was located in Neb. we met up in Council Bluffs to pick up the puppy, AKC supposedly not going to grow over 6 lbs. Trixie was an adorable sweet girl, my husband really favored her and she him. She grew to about 14 lbs. he affectionately called her "Tank" I originally bought her for breeding, but soon realized she was not healthy enough as she had many health issues including epilepsy she had constant seizures which provoked one of my other females to attack her, so had to make sure we never left them together. Sadly she developed bladder stones and after surgery just never woke up, she was only 8 yrs. old when we lost her. I was very naïve at the time, Cindy bragged about her quality dogs and how she docked the tails herself, poor Trixie basically had no tail it was cut so short. At my age (I don't breed anymore, my 5 dogs are fixed) I have no plans to get any more dogs, but if I do, I will make sure and find a quality breeder or rescue to get one from. Even though it's been 3 yrs. we miss her still. |
I'm so sorry to hear your story, I have had luck to in the past, lost my little Miley to liver shut before she was a year old, breeder said he'd pray for me. I did a lot of research before buying my next Yorkie, little Pebbles, try texaspartiyorkies.com call Pat Smith in Salado Tx. She's been breeding them for 20 years and is very reputable, her home an dogs are immaculate, an a one year guarantee on congenital health. I believe you'll be happy with her, you can drive to her home an see for yourself. |
I'm sorry that happened to you! Seems like a lot of us trust a nice website. Google their name at the very least! |
I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you, people can be so cruel:( Despite your $499 loss, I hope you find the dog of your dreams soon. Quote:
