Is this worth it??? 1 Attachment(s) My vet that I was referred to got me to sign up for this. Is it worth it? I'm a new puppy owner. (Yorkie) They got me to sign up for the $59/month plan. |
Welcome to YT, I can't help out on your insurance plan, my charge card is my plan :eek: just wanted to welcome you, I'm sure you will get many responses. |
Wow there ala carte menu seems pricey. I did not think Detroit was so expensive. |
I have healthy paws, they don't cover routine visits or shots but they cover all major illnesses and injuries. They reimbursed me 80% and it cost 46.00 a month. |
Best Pets---emergency coverage only; less than $150/year--again limited, but exactly what I was looking for... |
I did a puppy package at my vet and it was $300.00 for all the puppy shots, 20% off heartworm meds, flea and tick meds and neuter. It include all the vet visits for the vaccines as well. Then I went to healthy paws a got there pet insurance. |
Looks a bit pricey geez I clip my clients dog nails for free I could buy a house with those prices. It's really a personal choice I think your being gouged |
:( Yes they got me :(((((:mad::mad::thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown |
I'm sure you can get out of it if you just tell them the spay neuter prices are fantastic. I'd certainly hang onto this and check my future bills after you opt out |
Well....it really depends. You DO NOT need all of those non-core vaccines - please do not let them talk to you into over-vaccinating your pet. See this thread for more guidance: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-overview.html As far as their highest plan -- what you really need to do to evaluate it, is to look at what you really will *need* from that list. My estimate from that list is that you'll need to spend about $400-500, give or take to really get what you need this first year here. Don't buy heartworm from them, you can get it much more reasonably elsewhere -- and as long as you're perfect at giving it *every* single month, you really don't need to force yourself to rely on the heartworm meds from the big pharma companies who try to persuade you that you MUST get their stuff in order to be "covered" if your kiddo ever does contract heartworm (rolling my eyes here). |
I vote you for the best answer. THANK YOU. I CALLED THEM TO CUT OFF THE PLAN AND THEY WERE REALLY RUDE WITH ME!!! |
