Sudden obsession with the kitchen I adopted my little Rosie back in June. The poor little thing was found abandoned in a field and she is adjusting to her new life quite well. We live across the street from a field that was recently harvested and lately Rosie has been hanging out in the kitchen between the stove and cabinets and has been seen 'digging' on the the kitchen rug. Is it possible that maybe we have a mouse? I have never seen a mouse or any evidence of a mouse, but can't figure out why she has started this unusual behavior. |
Welcome to YT, and thank you for rescuing this sweet little baby. My now passed girl was a mighty hunter. When I moved into my new home my girl would bite at the cabinet doors under the sink trying to get it opened, what I did was remove EVERYTHING inside that cabinet, I let her smell EVERYTHING I removed as long as it was nothing dangerous to her, then let her go in it and sniff it out, her curiosity was satisfied, she stopped biting at the doors, but every single morning she went to that cabinet and sniffed at it lol. Yorkies are very curious lil critters lol. |
sudden kitchen obsession How nice of you to give the baby a home. That is so sad that she was abandoned but good you found her and gave her a home. I believe that yes your yorkie could be smelling a rodent especially if the field was harvested and their home grounds were disturbed. They would have to find somewhere else to live. I had a yorkie that would do pretty much the same thing in our kitchen and we had rodents under our house we later found out. Their ability to smell is something else and from what I know they were originally bred to seek out these rodents so it is just possible that is what she is doing. Seeking them out. |
Maybe Rosie has found out thats a good place to find tasty bits. |
