I'm Going to Westminster Dog Show! :wavey:I haven't posted in forever but wanted to share my excitement with people I knew would understand! I am not a spontaneous person by any means, but when I saw an ad on Facebook about tickets for Westminster going on sale I reached out to my mom and asked if she wanted to go. I grew up watching the dog show with her so I thought this would be a bucket-list opportunity. So we bought tickets and flights and we are going! I chose tickets to the toy group judging (other groups included as well). Max and Cooper are doing great. Max has horrible seasonal allergies and Cooper licks his privates more than he should, but we'll figure it all out. |
OMG. I am so jealous I love Westminster! Go early and backstage to meet the breeds. Carry water with you. I think they don't allow cameras but just soak in the electric atmosphere. See if Michele is going. Also rig air. Tanya or Ilona R. also Brooklyn get to meet if you can some of our breeder member families. I want one day to go to Crufts and also the World Dog show. Sigh what would life be like without dreams? |
I am jealous! That is on my bucket list! Pet a pooch for me! |
I've not "met" you, but am thrilled for you! I, too, adore watching Westminster and cannot imagine how excited you must be to actually get to go in person! I know you and your mom will enjoy every minute!! God speed... |
Omg happy dance! And then a jealous and excited happy dance! I have a brochure on my table of an all inclusive bla bla bla trip and I want to go soooooo bad- I am so excited for you! Congratulations and have fun!!!!! |

My advice is buy the catalogue if you can pre order it do so. Then it contains all the ring times for each ring and a detailed listing of which Yorkies are entered . In a benched show usually all breeds are grouped together. I would go to group judging but hey I love showing and watching dogs move. Remember how the breed judging progresses. Male pups first by age bracket then open dogs then winners dog, repeat for females. There will be special classes like veterans, brood bitch, etc. Your catalogue will tell you. |
Thanks for all the advice! I'm going with my mom, who doesn't quite have the stamina that I do. Not sure how much we are really going to be able to see. |

That's exciting! I remember going to the Detroit Dog Show some moons ago and it was so much fun. I can only imagine how amazing this opportunity will be. |
