New puppy is here! He has been perfect, on the 10 hour road trip, and then at home. He has given his GSD brother a full dental :) his sister is not impressed with him, and the cats really don't care much. He slept from10 to 5 - my big dog made us get up. He is so tiny the xS sweaters don't fit him, so I need to go buy a men's tube sock for now. I needn't have worried about the harness he is not letting me out of his sight. He fetches his baby kong, and has only gone potty outside. Oh and he is a very good eater. Vet appointment this afternoon, so I will have his weight update, and the only un-fun thing for him will Be getting a dewormer (I'll give to him with dinner). He is very kissy, and I LOVE him! ❤️️ |
Congrats on your new baby. If you have an old (ladies size) sweat shirt you can cut off the sleeve. Measure how long the pup is add another couple of inches for growth, the cuff cut a slit or V in the middle so it won't be to tight around the neck. Man's tube may be to big. |
Thank you! I was thinking of trying that! Instead I found the hospital socks from my colonoscopy (I guessthere was a reason I didn't throw them away after all)! Lol they just were just put to good use :) ugly, but practical... |
Puppy Is here 1 Attachment(s) Finally figured out how to resize photos. We are all going to bed now. I sleep when puppy sleeps! |
Congrat!!!!! He sure is an adorable lil fella! |
Awwww he is just adorable!! And you already sound in love ! |
Awwww he's just adorable. Hey never throw anything out lol, ya never know when you'll have a need for it lol. See those socks came in handy lol, not pretty but suits the purpose. Many years ago while on a camping vacation I bought a wee lil 8 week old baby (unplanned), July and she was shivering, I was FRANTIC, I grabbed a sock and cut it into a shirt, she was comfy in it and that's all that mattered. I was very proud of my improvising, who knew other furbutt moms did the same thing, unless, lol, a camping mom saw my sock baby and SPREAD the word, there were NO home computers at this time lol. |

Satellite.... I just lost my replying for the second time.... trying once more. We had his first vet appointment yesterday. My vet was impressed, he whipped around when I said his name, and I hadn't even had him 2 full days by then. Ok, I know that is bragging, but the vet said it first! He weighed 2 pounds 10 oz (9 weeks) so I expect he won't need to wear socks for long. He didn't fuss about being weighed, the thermometer, and he actually slurped down his dewormer! All my dogs have loved the vet, so we will go weekly to weigh, and say hi. I have to vaccinate myself, and my vet goes with that. I follow Dr Dodds protocol, Andy my vet doesn't carry those vaccines, so I had to order 25 myself ;) He is 1/2 Yorkie (mom) and his dad was a shihtzu x Pom. His hair is close to a pretty slick Pom - I didn't care about his coat, but I love to learn about genetics, and what throws a coat like this, from super hairy parents :) and siblings! He does have very thick skin, and a double coat. He is sturdy too, his bone structure is not at all fragile. He did get the smarts, that is for certain. And he is no wilting violet - which is the personality I prefer. Sending now before I lose this too. Thanks all for the kind words! Oh and now both my dogs love him, and he wants to be big and play like them. Oh, and I will try to upload his first raw meal of Cornish game hen neck and ribs to the prey model thread later. He pounced back and forth at it before he dug in. SO Cute, I got video of that! |
Did I miss it? What is your perfectly perfect little guy's name? He sounds very smart and it would seem as though he loves you almost as much as you love him!! |
Oops! 1 Attachment(s) Judah is perfect puppy's name! Another pic, of him in his raggedy sweater, snoozing while I work. |
Very cute!! |
Judah is little jewel and looks perfectly precious in his 'raggedy' sweater (very "in" this season). |
Thanks everyone Quote:
I have called him Good Juju too, numerous times. I think that is a fitting nickname. Now out to enjoy some midday sunshine. |
Gorgeous pup :) |
