How to Bathe a Yorkie Just wanted to share my condensed 1-minute video of Scottie's beauty regime :D Products used: 🔹Aroma Paws Shampoo and Conditioner: Pomegranate Cucumber Fluffy Shiny Coat (all natural and smells amazing!!) 🔹Spa by Tropiclean Tear Stain Remover Facial Cleanser (great for stains and gentle on the eyes!!) https://www.instagram.com/p/BMHS-_AB...cottieandcasie |
Wow! Such a beautiful, shiny coat! Enjoyable and quick video. |
I wish it only took 1 minute in real life! |
Scottie is such a perfect lil model, beautiful coat. |
That was beyond adorable!! Scottie is awesome, and I love his little booty in the bath. Great job with the video. You make the process look so easy. :D I always say that bathing my Yorkies is more work than washing and waxing my car. |
Love that you posted this! Absolutely adorable! Your babies are so very cute! I give my little ones a bath in between grooming visits.... I wash the top of their head and the mouth Area real good but never pour water over their head or wet their ears at all, I towel dry and blow dry and they still ended up with an ear infection twice! What am I doing wrong and what's your secret?!!! I would love to free bathe them without worrying about getting their ears infected! Ty! |
Jkpal, thanks! The lighting actually makes his coat look a lot shinier :D maxdog, hahaha :D yes, I totally wish it'd only take 1 minute! Think my fastest time is 30min! matese, thanks!! Scottie is actually quite good with being still. He's such a good boy!! :) Maximo, thank you! Haha.. the sped up video sure makes it look easy - but my hunched-over-the-tub aching back never thinks so :p chasingbella, thank you!! I find the hairs around their ears get oily, so when I bathe them I definitely wash it too. For some reason, when I pour water over their heads, as shown, I don't feel like the water gets into the inside of their ears. Only thing is I make sure to be very careful not to pour water over their nose - they start to choke up. When I dry them, I use the towel to massage the ears and get as much of the moisture out. I also trim back the hairs growing out of the ear canal every now and then, but I don't pluck the hair or use Q-tips to clean the inside. Plus...from what I've read, since Yorkies' ears stand up, there is enough air circulation to prevent moisture in the ear. Haha..so sorry, no real secret :p If you're worried about ear infections, maybe focus more on their health? My little ones are on Nature's Farmacy Probiotics Max supplements. I also read that adding a little spray of Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar to their water (we have the Bragg brand) prevents yeast, hence preventing ear infections (plus many many many other health benefits). |
Very Helpful Thank you for the video. I was worried about using a product on Rock Benji that would cause damage to his eyes. Your baby is beautiful. Quote:

When I bathe Cody I put a cotton ball in each ear, I tilt his head upwards, then I fold his ears down and hold them when I rinse the soap off his head, this method prevents water getting into his ears, tilting head up prevents water getting in eyes and nose. I will say, one good body shake can send those cotton balls flying so I keep a few in my pocket for replacements, I also bathe him using a hand held shower head, that works best for me. |
