I am thinking about getting another Yorkie, a female for Jake to play with. So I called 2 different people adertising in the local paper. I asked the first person the general questions about the puppies.

One of the ad's said "YORKIE (silky) Terrier male and female. Crate and paper trianed." So I asked her are they Yorkies or Silky terriers. and she said well the female is a Yorkie and he male is a Silky from the same litter. ????? what the!!!

The other lady's ad said that her dog was show quality. I was like cool. So what are the coat colors.( she had 3 puppies) She told be they were black. ??? she didn't have even an estimate of the size, and no papers. I'm like how can you say that they are show quality and you don't know anything about them.The only thing she knew for sure is that they were $950- 1500.

I wanted to rip the phone out of the wall.

It's amazing how many people are allowed to own & care for other living creatures. IMO, if you're going to breed, you should know as much as you can about the breed in question (I know no one knows EVERYTHING, but come on, a Silky & a Yorkie in the same litter?!!!) and be able to answer any prospective owner's questions.

Could you get another pup from the Jake's breeder? Perhaps they have another litter planned in the near future.... There's also quite a few outstanding breeders here on YT that are worth looking into.

Yes it was the Baltimore Sun.

I have tried to contact Jake's breeder but her number is no longer listed. And the lady who owned him first doesn't have her information anymore.

I've heard of clueless, but really! A yorkie and a silkie from the same litter! Quite a trick, if you ask me.

RUN quickly away from the BALTIMORE SUN!!! If you're reading it for news and entertainment, please stay away from that classified section..They advertise for "just puppies" and a few other pet stores that sells dogs and cat's in MD.

Here is an amazing bit of information....check it out.
Dogs are not like Women. A litter can in fact be made up of dogs from different Fathers if you breed your bitch with multiple males.

What she's saying is that if you breed a female to two males, different breeds in the same heat cycle, it's very possible that both males can father puppies in that litter. Pretty wild, huh? Of course, that lady with the puppies probably didn't know what she was talking about and was just clueless but it really can happen.

Thanks for clarifying, Angie....maybe I was not clear enough.
Ever see a litter of mutts ? They may all look different....or the same ! ;)

We have some REAL Breeders here! I'm sure you
will be able to find a furbaby to love. :)
