She sounds so very terrier-y! I love independent, so I read your posts thinking awwww.... Are they all terrier-like in their behavior? It sounds like some are, and some aren't. I have read varying opinions. The squeak toy works best around here too (so does the clicker), but no yorkie yet. It will be interesting to see what piques his interest most. I am told it is toys so far. My big dog would pay attention to me every second, of every day, if I could only carry the cat around 24/7. The cat is his favorite thing, we argue over who the cat belongs to :) The medium sized dog would sell her soul for the wild rabbits. |
1 Attachment(s) That's just too funny and I love your household! Long ago I had German Shepherds. They listened, wanted to please, responded to commands immediately...wonderful canines whom I loved. Now I have Piper...she listens, but hears only what she wants to hear; wants to be pleased, has never understand a what a command is let alone responded to one. She is my heart, my life, my joy, and I love her beyond!!! |
Ha ha of course my cat freak dog IS a GSD :) he moves super fast to do everything I ask if I am holding the cat. He moves a bit slower when I ask him to do something otherwise when the payoff isn't as good. He is not doing it to please me, but because he thinks I might hand the cat over to him? Really? Silly, goofball dog! Of course Piper is awesome, and life as it should be. Who wants a boring dog? I love staying awake at night trying to figure out how to get a step ahead of the dogs! |
I adore that your dog is "cat-motivated;" it's very funny and very sweet. |
Shield will also choose when to listen outside too. There are so many smells and places to run, animals to chase, etc.. |
