Every 4 weeks for my Yorkie. He gets nails trimmed, a bath, haircut. During summer he gets the puppy cut but with winter it will be just minor trim cut- around the head and eyes mainly. |
Just like you, we groom Cody every six to seven weeks. Quote:

I do once a month, I could go longer though. I bath Emma about every 1.5 weeks depending on how smelly she is though. |
Bella has a regular coat and could stand to go only every couple of months, but Bailey has a curlier coat that just loves to mat up even with daily brushings. So we take them both about monthly. |
Every 6 to 8 weeks. I do bathe and brush him quite a bit. He is very active and gets grubby quickly. HE goes in groundhog holes, under sheds, in creeks, in brush, etc. Definitely sporty! I keep his hair short, puppy cut because of his activities. |
My 8 month old puppy had her first groom today she is normally a happy fearless (not even scared. of fireworks does not even bother looking up) but she s now skittish jumpy and stays in the position you put her in and zones put like a statue have I traumatised her? The groomer was mobile and recommended she was with her an hour. thanks for your help. |
Lilah has gone to the groomer once a year since her birth, typically between October and November- right when serious sweater season hits and armpit mats abound (may also have something to do with how busy and crazy Christmas season can be too!) and she gets a shave. Other than that I do her grooming at home. She needs to be brushed every day but we skip sometimes, we do ark naturals eyes so bright for a face rinse before a mustache comb, trim nails, bath once a week. I like her coat long and am a little sad we cut it down this winter, I don't think I will ever take her back to the groomer- she was really upset after this last time and -horror- they cut her top knot! luckily not all the way off. I have always wanted a grooming table and grooming my dog is one of my favorite things about owning her (hopefully I will get better at it, she is already almost four and I have improved a ton already! Lol) - I suppose it is time to bite the bullet and buy one! :) |
Mine goes to the groomer only for a nail cut every 6-8 weeks. I trim his fur myself whenever needed. I bath him once every 2 weeks in the winter and every 1-2 weeks in the summer depending on how dirty he gets. After a few bad experience at the groomer I've decided I'll just do it myself. Also the money saved goes to his expensive prescription food that he needs. |
I keep mine in a puppy cut and they get groomed about every 6 weeks. I try to bath them every 2 weeks. |
Max goes to the dreaded groomer every 4 months. Between grooming sessions, we bathe him, brush him, and do his nails ourselves. Getting better with the groomer though, she's working hard to earn his affections:) |
I keep my guy in a puppy cut, winter he goes every 6 weeks, summer it's every 5 weeks, Winter a bath every 2 weeks, summer depends on deep of a hole he dug, some holes he has dug all you can see is his butt and that sweet lil tail, so bath time could be every week. |
Winston goes monthly, sometimes it's 3 weeks and sometimes it's 5 depending on my work schedule. |
I do most of my own grooming. I brush and comb Deuce daily (or more if needed)I also clean his face and beard daily and scissor trim him about every two weeks or when I see a wierd hair sticking out. I usually bathe him every two weeks. I keep him in a "Joey Cut". I Shave his body and keep his legs, face, head and tail longer. I try to walk him on cement to keep his nails in check but in this cold weather. I'm sure I may have to have them trimmed. I just can't do that myself. Too chicken. I also have his ears plucked by the Vet office a couple times a year since he has so much hair in his ears. |
Dog grooming Be careful and choose groomers wisely. I have a home groomer. I brush and comb them every day. I bathe them and can use a clipper to trim back their coat. When they need to be cut short I have the groomer cut. I right there making sure no hitting or abuse.or sticking them in a hot dryer. These things happened at groomers. Not to mine but I have read this. It's real easy to wash and lightly groom. Nails and ears need the groomer or vet. |
