Never too old to change
 
From the time he was a pup, Teddy didn't like being touched when he was resting or sleeping. He has always been affectionate, but he didn't like to be disturbed while sleeping -- unlike Max, who would be content to have petting 24 hours a day.

Teddy is now 7 years old and suddenly loves petting while resting. He rolls over for belly rubs!

Have you noticed any big changes as your Yorkie grows older?

Toby wasn't at all interested in affection for a long time. Now I can't get him off of me. But if you barely touch him while he's sleeping it'll scare him awake and he'll huff and move away practically shaking his head in disgust. But if you shift, roll, push at him in your sleep he's fine....touchy touchy. Lol

As she gets older, Sissy is becoming more affectionate and cuddely.

Same here.....Duchess has her own pillow and blankie on my bed which she sleeps on every night. She has always loved her space at bedtime. Lately she has been sleeping up under me......weird.

Isn't interesting how they change/evolve like that...? It's like...why? It makes me wonder why. So fascinating. But in any case - more opportunity for cuddling for you :)!

I love these feel good stories.
Bailey is only 4.5yo and is sensitive when he's sleeping. He nearly jumps out of his skin when disturbed:eek: I figure he must be having a good sleep. Now only if I could have those!

As Emma aged although she's only 2.5 I think as she's gotten older she's been more comfortable with belly rubs and lets us turn her over to do so.

My Lily is now 14 so she has gon through many changes.
As a puppy she loved to torture me by shaking her pee pads. "Look what I am doing Mom", "do l have your attention?"

Around 5yr old she started really paying attention, it was like she was communicating with us on a higher level.

Now she is more independent, she use to love sitting on our laps while watching TV. Now she prefers to sit on the foot rest of our reclining chairs. She still cuddles in bed and loves to be picked up. She gives lots of kisses. I miss having her sit on my lap. I think this started when my husband had a stroke. He could not create the ideal lap anymore but, you would think she would want to sit in my lap.

Yes! Their personalities in general fascinate me, and it is fun to watch them evolve. :)

I know the huff and disgust, LOL. That is what Teddy used to do if I disturbed him. :D

Haha! I agree. My boys were the opposite -- light sleepers as youngsters and always ready to go. Now they are starting to deep sleep. Freaks me out a little, and I can't help bugging them to make sure they are okay. :D

My boy will roll over if you rub his belly while sleeping.
Should he and I be on the couch and I'm not touching but startle him by moving my feet, he goes Rambo after my toes. He's like in such a deep sleep he doesn't know what he's doing

Aww, so many changes! I remember the pee pad shaking days too. :)

These little ones are full of surprises their entire lives.

So funny! Jackson just turned 8 and he's been more affectionate lately too!
