How much poop can one puppy poop? Max goes out in the morning, leaves us 2 tootsie rolls. Then comes in a deposits 2 more on his piddle pad. Thru out the day I find about 10 more little pieces distributed amongst the pads throughout the house. We suspect the cats are squeezing out little pieces to blame on the dog but haven't caught them in the act. So my question is how much poop can one puppy poop? |
Roflol!!!!! :lol tears Every bodies Go when their body tells them.... Some go after every meal and Buddybear usually only goes 1 bm a day, usually...sometimes twice...... I do think the cats are trying to get the new puppy in trouble. |
I think they poop more with certain foods than with others. My pups poop after eating and that's it. But, my hedgehog (class pet) is a poop machine. He eats cheap walmart cat food. If he's walking, he's pooping. |
I may have to agree with certain foods, last year I was feeding Cody (5 yo)a high protein food and he poop 4 times a day. I switched him to a reduced fat formula now he goes 2 times a day. First thing in the morning and a few hours after dinner. When he was on the high protein food 15 minutes after he ate he would poop. |
I agree that food type can be a factor. Also depends on the dog. Teddy has a fast metabolism and things just seem to move through him fast. When he was younger, he often went 3 - 4 times a day. He is usually only twice a day now, but sometimes excitement will bring on an extra one. :D |
We still suspect the cats but I'm thinking its those pupperoni he gets for going outside! The girls love them and he being a extremely smart dog 😀 Figured out even the slightest tinkle gets a pupperoni. But his sister dogs are smarter than him...they just go outside with him wait till he tinkles then get in line for their treat! |

Is this like "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?":eyetearss Yeah, I bet it was the cats. |

I would probably switch foods to alleviate some of the stress on his digestive system. |

I usually stick to kibble for potty rewards. Sometimes bits of steamed chicken. |
The vet recommended the peanut butter pill poppers as a treat. He loved them but so did his sister's so they were all getting way too many treats. I think it's the pupperoni. Cut back today and he only went 4 times... But the cats looked suspiciously guilty. If he would just stop chasing them they might stop trying to get him in trouble. |
Maybe try a different quality kibble and cut back on the treats? Mine were on Acana and Orijen in the past and now on Fromm. I only give dehydrated organs as treats. They've always had 2 - 3 poops daily. |
We give Izzie treats when she goes poop. I know she only does a little at a time so she can have treats throughout the day. When she goes poop she comes running to us like a ball of fire with her baby (stuffed bear) hanging out of her mouth--she doesn't do that if she only does a pee pee. Too funny and my Izzie is smarter than the average bear. |
