So after purchasing one I got a few more since the boys love them (especially the flavored ones) anyways I noticed Ted slobbers all over while chewing it and then licks his leg excessively till soaked after a few mins with the bone...he doesn't do this any other time than when getting the bones! I'm so confused as to what to do

Wow! No advice on that one. Seems really strange. My little boy is a BIG chewer and loves these bones. Hope someone can relate to this.

I would maybe skip the flavored ones then? Sounds like it is an allergic reaction maybe?

Yea I was thinking since they don't make flavored for big boys ( I also have an American bully) that we could try plain and see how he does with slobbering like I never knew a yorkie had so much spit that they could soak both front legs and beard! It's gross I have to dry him every time he does it ugh thank you!

Update we've been using the Kong I purchased today with pb and the boys absolutely love it! And there's no leg licking! Friday I'm swapping our Nylabones out for unflavored for sure!

I stopped giving mine the Nylabones because they'd target one spot on the end and start tearing it apart with their sharp little and eating it!

They love the little xs Kong though!! And it's so tough, I really like that they haven't destroyed it one bit.

I also like the Petsafe Buddy Waggle and the Twist-n-treat. Both treat dispensing toys that they love to throw around and chew on!

Ooh these look good! I have to buy medium as my bully isn't very destructive and large would be too big for ted! We are investing in anything that Ted can't destroy (he also shreds microscopic size bits of nylabone on my couch I don't find till it scratches me)

Leg and foot licking can be indications of an allergy. Possibly something in the flavoring, which is probably at least partly artificial, is causing an allergic reaction. So glad you found something else he likes.:)

Nylabones scare me as they are very hard and can splinter from what I've read.

I've read several dogs having to go into emergency because they ate bits n pieces they chewed off. Apparently it can block their system and can be very dangerous.

Yeah, that's what I've heard as well. Sometimes you don't know what to believe, but those nylabones are pretty hard, close to bone hard imho. Maybe they are ok, but with all the other choices out there, I wouldn't take the chance.

So not Nylabones what would any of you suggest. My Ruger likes them and they are the only one I can give him without him chewing things all to pieces. I throw them away when they get too nobby. Deer antlers I heard will break teeth. No chew toy works for him. He is an aggressive chewer. Suggestion welcome.
