Like you, Cigale sometimes uses her website to advertise the puppies of other breeders so it is possible that some of the current puppies for sale are not hers but may be Pam's or Carol's since neither of them have active websites.

I wouldn't assume a lack of consistency from the pictures..after all, all of your dogs do not look alike...I have seen lots of consistency in the actual dogs I met when I was there as well as the pictures I saw of the dogs in her program. I also think the home page has the best pictures of the cutest dogs from all of her breeding years most likely. Just as show breeders will put their champions on the first page or the dog that is the best of the best in their program, I think she has done something similar on her site.

All of the puppies look to be good quality in my opinion even if they didn't all have the same "look".

The reason I commented on that is because she states on her website she specilizes in that 'Extreme Baby Doll Look'. When you advertise that on the net you have perfectionist's like myself that expect to see consistency. That's all. You say that some of the pups she's got advertised may not be her's..well that explains the inconsistency, but then she says she 'works with them' who also specialize. Just making a comment about something.

first I do not advertise my pups, mine are adopted before theyre born in most cases (baby is the only exception).

second I dont not advertise someone elses pups on MY nursery page. The Nursery is for my pups and my pups only as not to mislead...

"Friends selling pups" is the page I use and when I do post them (which is rare) they are identified as NOT MINE and all of my friends contact information is posted. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PUPS AT ALL, its merely a courtesy post.

Yes, I do appreciate that. Thanks Irene. Just as you strive for the "perfect Yorkie" according to the breed standard and don't always get it, she strives for the perfect yorkie with the look she prefers and doesn't always get it maybe, but the babies are still yorkies and they are still adorable, right? :)

She does specialize in the babydoll look but that is not ALL she breeds. She breeds for the standard too because she shows. I know that she also had bred herself into a corner in the "extreme babydoll" look when I was looking for a puppy last summer and she was looking to incorprate new lines into her stock so I think she may have some new dogs now. Just speculating.

I was just referring to the fact that you have a website which is a form of advertising imo and that I have seen other litters or puppies that are not from your breeding stock advertised for sale on there.

I was not trying to offend in any way but simply to show why maybe the pups look different. Maybe she operates her website differently and doesn't have a ""Friends Selling Pups" page, but I think you understand what I was saying. :)

Is everyone saying that there is a "Baby Doll Yorkie" that has a flat type nose, and a "Standard Yorkie" that has a nose like a fox?

I have always called Sadie my little fox, because from a side profile, she looks like a fox. I never knew there were two types.

I would be more than proud to own any of these types. They all have precious faces in my opinion, and I would be more interested in their personality/health than the shape of their nose.

I think a baby doll face has the little button eyes and a shorter nose. As you said, they are all adorable.

No, there are not two "types" but there are all sorts of different "looks" and as you learn more and more about yorkies and their different looks some people develop a particular look that they like. As a look becomes popular whether it is because it does well in the show ring or because the general population likes the look breeders will start to actually breed "for" that look by mating dogs who will have a better chance of producing the deisred characteristics to achieve the specific "look".

Sometimes judges like a short. cobby style body and then another year judges may decide they like the longer leg and longer neck.....for example. In some parts of the country judges may like the shorter snout, and big eyes (babydoll face) and in another part of the country they may not....they may prefer a longer snout.

The "breed standard" is a very subjective guideline and there is room for lots of different interpretations. We all know how different yorkies look. There are no two that look exactly the same which is one of the main things that attracted me to the breed.

We all care more about health and temperament than "looks" but once you have those two main objectives then it is okay to decide what "look" you prefer. :)
