Do I even own a Yorkie?? Ok so my girlfriend keeps saying the dog is too big! Ok he is, but I just believe him to be a larger Yorkie. In the same way you have tall people! Can someone confirm just by looking at it.. http://imgur.com/download/3FdUxiB/ |
Looks totally purebred to me - and what a FAB pic too, wow! |
Totally agree, looks Yorkie through and through - fab photo |
Looks like a Yorkie! So cute!!!! Does he do that on his own? I don't think I could get my girls to pose like that! I'm in love with that pic! |
He look like a yorkie to me . My Lucy is full blooded yorkie and she is 12lbs |
SO adorable....SO a yorkie |
Another vote for full yorkie! Let your gf know that there are MANY teapots around. YT even has a "YT Teapot Club". LOL Link below if you'd like to join. :D http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...apot-club.html I have a big boy as well. 15 lbs of LOVE! |
I concur. Great looking Yorkie! Just look at that stance!! :D |
He's a beautiful Yorkie :D |
Complete yorkie face but big body. I once got a Shelte that I know was purebread hoping for a standard 20-30 pounder but that angel ended up being 46 pounds and nearly as tall and long as a collie. It looks like a yorkie to me too. |
He is so adorable! Perfect for a yorkie. |
I have to agree looks full yorkie to me. My now passed girl weighed in at 17 lbs, not am once of fat on her,she had a beautiful sleek body, she was pure yorkie just a big yorkie. Chewie is adorable, GREAT photo. |
My boys 20 lbs and about the same length/height as yours! Pure yorkie :) (mine has gained a few lbs since neutering before he was 17) |
He is a handsome fella!!! My grand dog (dd dog- Ace) is about 12 lbs. He is full yorkie, in fact I was told he has the same mother as my Remy who is 5 lbs. scary!! I had a lady tell me he could not be a yorkie because he was big, she was rude about it.. I told her just like people yorkies come in different sizes .... she was a large woman and I think that made her decided to be quite. I also have a large shih tuz-- hes about 32lbs but a beautiful baby. |
From what I have seen here on YT there are Yorkies over 20lbs. Size is not necessarily what determines the genetics of the dog. I can't imagine what breed your friend thinks your dog is. He looks totally Yorkie. He is totally adorable!:) |
Larger Yorkie Hi, I'm new here also, but I can tell you for a fact that yorkies do grow larger than what society is use to! Here's a section from just one website on yorkies: " Yorkshire Terriers should be 8 to 9 inches at the shoulder and weigh no more than seven pounds, with four to six pounds being preferred. Yorkies are inconsistent in size. It's not unusual for a single litter to contain one Yorkie weighing less than four pounds, one who weighs five or six pounds, and one who grows to be 12 to 15 pounds. Beware of breeders who offer "tea cup" Yorkshire Terriers. Dogs who are smaller than the standard are prone to genetic disorders and are at a higher health risk in general." My little man is was 12lbs at his last vet visit, and they said he's in perfect health! I'd like to keep him around 10lbs, so he needs some exercise, but other than that, he's perfect! Larger yorkies tend to be better for families with kids, are less "fragile" and can play with other dogs and they also tend to be more healthy. I think we "Big Yorkie Moms" need our own thread! LOL ;) Enjoy your little guy! He'll keep you on your toes, and laughter in your heart! :) |
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Perfect yorkie! Mine us 15 lbs so don't even trip on his size. You got more Yorkie to love! |
