introduction Hi, We just buried our beloved Xapa (Greek for joy or blessing pronounced "ka-ruh") today after she suffered a bite from a large copperhead and quickly declined in health despite excellent care from our local vet. Having said all this, we will soon be looking for a reputable breeder so I'm joining this site to get better educated. We purchased Xapa nine years ago from a wonderful couple who came highly recommended by friends but unfortunately they are no longer breeding. Any help or advice from senior members is appreciated. We have lots of references (veterinary and professional) for the right breeder and have the flexibility of purchasing in TX or VA or traveling a short distance to meet the breeder at their home. Above all, we're not looking for a show dog but rather a healthy dog from a responsible breeder. Thanks! Joe |
Update: I've been reading quite a bit and found some great breeders thanks to the wealth of information on this site. This forum is a great resource! |
First off, I'm so sorry for your loss, it's really hard and painful when having to say goodbye to our furry companions :( And also, welcome to YT! You'll find that alot of folks here are more than willing to help you with information and advise :D From the sounds of it, y'all seem pretty well prepared and set. The only thing is to confirm breeder reputations, making sure ya have the puppy beginner's necessities, etc. I wishing ya good luck in finding the right furbaby for ya. |
2 Attachment(s) Thanks for the welcome! Now that I've figured out a bit on photos, I have a few more pictures to share of our 3 little ones that have all passed on: Precious, Sophie, and "Baby" Xapa: Attachment 409957 Attachment 409958 |
