Yorkie hair Just curious how long do you let your Yorkie hair grow. Reason why I'm asking I love the look of when it's long but not too long. I'm trying to get my Cody hair to grow longer. My baby ears are so pointy. Lol |
Emma's hair is right at what would be her "knee caps", its gotten longer but the floor length wasn't manageable for us, but it was very pretty. |
1 Attachment(s) Nice, I would love for my Yorkie hair to grow that long but he has some ways to go. |
Cody is adorable! He has very nice ears. I do all of my boys' grooming at home. Tried doing a puppy cut on Max when he was young, but I was really bad at it. That was one reason he ended up in full coat. ;):) My boys' body hair is just above the floor. The hair tends to suffer from being dragged along pavement or grass on our walks, so it will never be perfect to the floor like a show coat. Their beards: I've played with the length. I like Teddy in a shorter beard. Max seems to prefer his longer beard, so I have let it grow out again. When I cut it short last year, he acted like he was off balance. :D |

I also groom my dogs myself and usually I trim so that the hair hangs just below the body - no shaving or puppy cuts for my 'kids'. |

Both of my boys are in a teddy bear cut, which we do ourselves. It is so humid and hot here there are no other options. Last night on the news Columbus, MS had the highest temp at 10:20 (showing Miss. Ala. and parts of Tenn. Ark. and Louis.) We were 85 (with feels like of 90) at 10:20 at night!!!! Yikes. I'm about to pass out myself. I love the look of the long hair -- it's beautiful. |

I think switching to our pyrex small custard bowls for water helped. Max often had a wet beard when he was younger, when we were using the wider water bowls. The custard bowl seems to be just the right width for the boys' mustaches to stay out of the water. I only see a few drops on their chin after they have had a drink. Eating is another story. I really should put a snood on Max. Usually I watch while he eats and I end up holding his beard for him. Save |
I agree with Maximo on the narrow bowl that is what we use for ours and it helps with Kyra a lot. I always wash her beard after meals. |
Same here I love the hair if it's too long but just enough only. I want to feel Fauna very comfortable with his hair. |
oh he's so cute :D But my furbaby and I prefer a very short haircut. I know, cause she's gotten so uncomfortable when I let her hair grow longer in any fashion. I may allow for it to grow a little longer in winter or colder seasons, but otherwise it will stay pretty short. for both maintenance purposes and the fact that she over heats easily. |

2 Attachment(s) Your baby is so danged adorable--any cut will look just perfect on your Cody! I like Piper's hair to be a bit tossly and longer than short. I guess you'd say Piper has medium-length 'coat' for the most part, but I have Carolyn (my totally fabulous groomer) trim Pipe's lower legs so, to me anyway, it looks like she's wearing little caprice pants--too cute! Hard to tell in these photos, but best I've got right now~~ |
