Ways your furry(ies) protect you! I realized something recently and thought it was somewhat funny/interesting. I watch a lot of horror movies... In fact, I think I watched just about all the good ones out there. Well.. even bad ones. There are some movies that are really creepy so sometimes, I'd get bit scared when in bed. And I do silly things like make sure all my body limbs aren't hanging over the mattress b/c "something" from under the bed might get me. LOL This was all before my furries started sleeping in my room. Oddly enough, I feel "safe" b/c they're watching over me. Whether it be human or not, they'll be able to see/hear/smell it and will alert me so I won't be caught by surprise! Anyone else have similar feelings or am I the only oddball here? LOL |
Yup I know exactly how you feel. I am an horror buff too and I like to watch them in a dark house by myself.....my friends don't understand it. Anyway, Duchess will alert me if there is something in the room that I dont see:p I'm actually pretty serious.....when I had to put my cat to sleep. Duchess and I were laying in bed watching TV. All of sudden, Duchess jumps up and starts barking like crazy....she is looking in the chair where my cat used to sleep. She would not take her eyes off of that charir. She was so scared, she ran into the hall outside of my bedroom door while continuing to bark, she would not come back into the room. She was literally scared. It took quite a few minutes for her to calm down in come back into the bedroom and even then she stared at the chair for several minutes before finally falling back to sleep. Interestingly, this happen on the same night I had my cat put to sleep. Although I was not scared, a part of me knew it was my cat because they weren't the best of friends. My cat would torment Duchess every now and then. I am pretty sure she was only really saying goodbye and Duchess didn't understand it. At any rate, Zoey must of finally crossed the rainbow bridge because it only happened that one time......queue the twightlight zone music. So yeah, Duchess is my alarm system and I feel she definitely protects me in her own way. |
Haha.. you're hilarious! :p For me, I absolutely cannot watch horror movies!! It's always after the movie that scares me, more than the movie itself. I have nightmares and see visions even after I close my eyes. It's really scary. Anyway...I think my closest similarity is that I'm afraid to be home alone. But when they're around, I feel safe as well. They usually hear everything and alert me, no matter where we are :D |

I get scared too but after the movie is over I will either watch a comedy or cartoons....than I complete forget how I scared I am. |

Another weird thing... I've had nightmares most of my life. Really disturbing and just.. violent. You would think that would get worse after watching horror movies. But no. Complete opposite. I rarely have nightmares anymore. Sometimes bit weird/bizarre but not scary at all! |

I was thinking the same thing. I thought Zoey was tormenting her one last time before she moved on. Thankfully it only happened that one time. |
We like to joke that the doggies chased the ghosts way from our house. Before the dogs, we routinely heard a faint radio, footsteps in the front hall, and interior doors slamming. The noises could also have been the annoying neighbor who moved away right when we got Max. :D Probably just sounded like it was all coming from within our house. |
Haha sometimes my Yorkie actually scares me because it's dark out and I don't hear/see anything unusual and then he starts growling and I'm like OMG what is he growling at?! Lol my other Yorkie never seems bothered by any noise lol. |
OMGosh, we had an earthquake last night & they all got off the bed & left me! LOL I was so scared...maybe they were telling me to get off the bed & stand by the doorway.:p Quote:
