My puppy has grey hair..... I understand that the color does change but will a portion of it stay grey? Thanks Lisa |
It really all depends just on your puppy. They're all so individual that it's hard to say when they're very young. Chances are that grey could turn into a pretty silver though. |
Is it black/grey right now? If so...it will probably turn more grey as your pup gets older. My dog has this too. It is beautful as they get their adult hair! |
If a puppy has silver (gray) hair it will turn gold or tan as he/she matures |
My pup has grey all along his head, I believe he's going to be mostly grey. Ididn't know they grow out of the black. Zoe will be handsome anyway!! |

Anything that you see as gray I expect will turn and stay silver. My Rocky was black/tan has a puppy..Once he started getting the gray it turned to silver. He is two years now and his alias name is "Our Silver Fox". |
Jewels had that and it changed to a light tan. |
At 4 months old, my pup was very grey/silver. I suspect he's going to stay that color. At 8 weeks, I could see this growing out at his roots - and "boom" before long, with a few haircuts, he has become nearly all grey. His tummy looks white to me and his face and legs are a light tan. It will be interesting to see if he changes colors again. Carol Jean |
What I consider 'gray' on my pups (in the black) is the blue coloring of their back coats. At almost 8 months, you can see how different mine still are one to the next. Quattro hair on his head is very silvery. His back is still black, no grey or silver. Teddy has a lot of grey coming into the black now. Trina and Robyn lost their black at a young age and trina is becoming more dark silvery where she was black. Zoe, the mom is pretty light and Bronx, the dad is a dark silvery blue. They still seem to be changing a lot. I think 3 is the age they start to show their adult color. |
