Aggressive behavior We have a 5yr old boxer, 5 yr old yorkie, Roxy and a 1yr old puppy Rose just this past week Rose has gotten very aggressive with her food she verbally attacks our other yorkie no biting just lots of noise and wrestling as soon as I pick her up she's calm not at all aggressive with me, it's scaring me They were best friends until a week ago |
Are they all spayed/neutered? I would recommend separating Rose with an xpen or baby gate at meal times and when you cannot supervise. |
Terrible Twos I hope she's just going through a phase! How can something that cute get so nasty! Yes all spayed females Our boxer is scared to death of the two little ones! Lol They play great 99% of the time! It's just this food obsession this past week |
Hopefully it is a phase, but stay on top of it. Food and treat guarding can be a big problem, can cause fights. My boys do not guard their food, but there is particular kind of chew treat that they would definitely fight over given the chance. |
Good day No fights today 🎉🎉 I fed one while the other one was distracted And didn't share bites of my food with them I'm hoping another few days without fighting and Rose will forget all about this phase! |

It didn't Roxy was eating last night while Rose was chewing on a bone and when she realized what was going on she darted in there and went nuts!! I might call the vet and she what he had to say |
Can I ask if all three of them are fed at the same time? Maybe Rose is trying to establish dominance? What would happen if you fed the other two first and sat with Rose to watch them eat first? While training her to stay? Maybe sit with her and watch them eat while giving her a back rub? Or...do you free feed? Then my suggestion wouldn't work :p Or maybe the question is, is she aggressive only when others eat, when she's eating, or when everyone is eating? lol |
