You have contaminated your home with parvo virus from that precious baby that died from parvo.
You need to de-contaminate your entire home with Vircon, before bringing another baby onto your property, especially if your new baby has NOT had a complete series of vaccinations and is at least 16 weeks old.
When I started breeding, I used to let people come and look and handle my babies....someone brought parvo onto my property and it cost wme well in excess of $40,000.00 to not only save a litter of babies that all came down with parvo, I had to totally completely treat my entire home, throw everything that had anything to do with that litter of babies (all toys, blankets, anything they had come in contact with) and it shut my breeding business down for almost 2 years. This is not something to be taken casually or lightly. THIS ALONE is enough of a reason for people buying puppies to NOT buy a puppy that is not completely vaccinated with all puppy shots....and that makes the baby right at 16 weeks old......Insist on vet records that show the babies have been vaccinated or if the breeder gives her own shots like I do, the LABELS from each bottle of vaccine should be attached to your shot record by the breeder.....dont take anyones "word" that the baby has been vaccinated....you get the actual shot record, with the actual label from the vaccine bottle taped to the shot record.
If you bring another unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated, under aged baby into your contaminated home, you are exposing your new baby to parvo. Decontaminate your entire home...all your floors where YOU have walked with contaminated shoes, anywhere that sick puppy walked or played, furniture, all toys and dishes, blankets, etc have to be washed in hot water and Vircon or discarded....please do not buy another underaged (less than 16 weeks old), unvaccinated baby, and get started cleaning and decontaminating your entire home with Vircon. I would strongly caution you NOT to bring another baby into your property/home for at least 6 months, and during that time, you decontaminate your entire home and everywhere you walked, touched, clothes you wore, etc..... Parvo is highly contagious and deadly....but you have already had to deal with THAT heartbreaking situation..... |
