Air bubble from fluid therapy I'm frustrated because the vet tech tried saying that's "impossible" for air to be in there, and that If I did it then it definitely would cause problems. I didn't do it, they did, and that's air. I know what the fluid felt like, and it's NOT fluid. They've fleeced us over 800 dollars the past 10 days. I asked if it was an emergency if by Sunday the AIR BUBBLE- not fluid- was still on her back. She said if you're worried bring her in. She's been pretty damn traumatized over the last 10 days, and this bubble isn't causing her any pain. It's sunday, still there. She said no, it wasn't an emergency, but definitely bring her in if I'm worried. I said I wasn't worried until you said that having an air bubble was impossible, that it would happen if I did it! This puzzled silence isn't helping my confidence. Now, I don't know what I should do, seriously, in this situation. she's playing, cuddling, eating, squealing, going potty, all that. Any ideas? |
What makes you think its an air bubble? How big is it? Could it be that the fluids have just not completely dissipated since the last time you did fluids? If it is an air bubble, and its not a huge bump, from sub q fluids, its not going into a vein and should be just under the skin. I don't see how it is possible to get a large pocket of air. I'm sure there were times during the years I did fluids on my yorkie that he got a few bubbles of air. It never hurt anything and eventually dissipated. Diana |

Okay it does sound like an air bubble! I wonder how it got there? I'm sure it will dissipate with time, but how weird. I'm not far from Mesa. Which vet do you use so that I can be sure to avoid them? LOL Diana |

dog Here's a miracle. Took my Yorkie spud in because his kidneys were not working right. He is 14yrs. Had fluid therapy, been eating hills zd. Old spud quit eating that. Finally I gave up and prayed for him. Alot. My friend Kim prayed. I began feeding him wellness petite casserole the chicken green beans and carrot. He loved that food. Started eating. You should see him. Complete change in his behavior and eating. I know it's an answer to my prayers. Every day is a blessing. The Lord hears every prayer we say. Spud eats plays barks and does not need fluids. |

I'm glad your little guy is doing so well! Chewie is actually just fine now. She was born with the Giardia- most likely-we were told. Shes' on meds for another type of parasite that we were waiting on for after her tummy and first inception dose to dose her with. It was just bad luck that it all happened at once. Then she got ahold of naproxen on top of it. I brought the tablet in and the doctor agreed she didn't get much if any, but we flushed her just in case. A comedy of errors. That seems to happen in our household. Everything is perfect, and the, suddenly, EVERYTHING goes wrong for a few weeks. I call it the F U fairy at play. It's an inside joke in this house. Sometimes you have to laugh or you'll just be upset all day. |
