little guy throwing up Hello, Is anyone else having a problem with their little yorkie throwing up every day? In the past week this is all my little guy does, mainly during the middle of the night.......I am very worried......I thought maybe a bug....he is eating and drinking, he has been on the same food for about 6 mo.....Nutro Healthy Weight and never had a problem until just recently......any ideas would be helpful.....do you think a vet appt is due again.....he just had a check up for a lump on his back right pad that the vet says little ones get. Thank you so much! Cheryl |
How old is he? If it's happening during the middle of the night, then I'd be thinking reflux / regurgitation (regurgitation, btw, is not vomiting...). For this, you'd usually try Pepcid before anything else. |

If it is yellow bile looking, I'd try giving him a little snack before bed. How many meals does he get in a day. Mine are older and get two meals a day. If we feed them their dinner too early they will puke during the night because their bellies are empty. |
My Zoey did and still does this if her tummy is empty. Vet said to feed before bedtime and give 1/4 Pepcid pill with dinner. This has helped tremendously. |
Re: Little guy throwing up Thank you Wylie's mom, I never even thought of him having reflux.....It is mostly at night, he is 2 1/2 years old, 3 in September......He is 12.6 pounds.....anyone have any ideas as to how much pepcid I could give him......he does occasionally throw up during the day, but mostly at night.....thank you soooo much! we pull his food up around 7 at night....we break his food up thru out the day as I have read they can get hypoglycemia if they are very active and they don't eat, and he is active.....give him a ball ALL day long 7 days a week 52 weeks a year and he is the most happiest little guy....we actually have to stop him because he gets sick if he runs to much after the ball. He is 2 1/2 ----- 3 in September Anyway, don't know if I am doing right by my little guy or not.....I don't want to make him sick....he gets treats thru out the day as out little 9 mo old havashire is still in potty training mode, almost there, and we give him a little treat too when he comes in, plus he gets baked chicken, steak, eggs at mealtimes, (a little tho, not much) and then he gets his dinner So hopefully if I let him eat before bed a little this will help his belly? Thank you all for your input....you are all basically saying the same thing.....never knew dogs can get reflux too :( |
Thank you so much.....I am going to try this as well........thank you! |
