Anyone ride with your Yorkie on a Motorcycle? 3 Attachment(s) Anyone ride with their dog? The weather is beginning to warm up enough where I can take Monty for his first ride on my motorcycle. I want to be able to leave the vents open so he can see outside through the mesh coverings for his first ride. I am now poking around the web to see what people have done and what strategies they have used. I am around a lot of bikes. Monty has had the odd barking reactions to some of the louder bikes and my response has been a big "oh it's okay! All good! Come. Let's go see ..." and I pick him up and take him to the bike while it is sitting in idle. He gets to sniff around and lick the rider and feel the vibration up close and personal. The barking always stops the second we start walking toward the bike. His first ride will be on my Yamaha V-Star 1100. It's not loud. I will be securing the kuryakyn pet palace to the passenger seat of my bike so he will be very close to me and a bit more sheltered from the wind I am excited. we have done a lot of work indoors getting him used to the pet palace. You are such a free spirit and so adventurous. Monty is going to experience many wonderful things with you! |
We had a motorcycle shop re-open in their brand new location here in Houston years ago......this old well respected establishment has been here in Houston for probably 50 years.....when they reopened in their new location, I thought I would take my adorable tiny little Bumper to the grand opening.....my friend had made him a faux leather jacked with fringe and a Harley-Davidson emblem across the back....she even made a tiny little cap for the outfit....it was absolutely adorable to see this tiny little yorkie that weighed less than 2 lbs, decked out in his Harley leather jacket and cap! Those giant motorcycle riding men had a fit over that tiny little dog! There were families there, as well as members of several motorcycle clubs, and of course, members of the infamous Bandidos were there.....my adorable, tiny precious little 1.5lb Bumper stole the show and made friends across the board, with people from all walks of life, that day....quite a little ambassador for our breed! |
Apparently this is quite common. My fiancé's dad's motorbike buddy does this exact same thing. They go riding every weekend during the summer. His friend always brings his 2 pound yorkie who gets strapped on in front of him with by a harness. The little yorkie girl has a biker jacker, biker hat and sunglasses on! I couldn't believe it until I saw pictures and videos! |

OMG lol Karen, that pic is adorable lol. |
Ok, I understand that a well-trained, patient, enjoys being center of attention Yorkie can be positioned for theee cutest little biker dude photo in the entire world. But how on earth did you get him to make that perfectly perfect too-cool biker dude expression?! Ohmygosh, priceless!!!! |
Piper is wondering if the biker dude could come to our neighborhood and ride back and forth in front of neighbor's house in order to intimidate and scare that damned Akita...?! |

LOL Sorry for the misunderstanding but that's not my doing. I happened to see that pic on FB couple years ago and I liked it so much that I saved it. :D |
i love bikes and i was wondering if anyone rode with their puppies... or if it was even allowed... is it safe? won't debris fly on their face while on road? if they are in bag, are they closed in...? or can they see outside? i'd love to take them on rides but i'm scared i may hurt them :x |
