Happy Ending I just thought I would drop a a note on a great experience I had the other day at a Petco in Henderson,Nevada. I met a lady with a darling little mixed breed yorkie I think it was a yorkiepoo. Anyways she had it groomed nice and it was a cute little girl. The best part she also had a little Maltese that was saved from a puppy mill. That little girl was six years old and was confined to a cage all her years having one batch of puppies after another. She chewed her front paws and did not know how to play. Her new mom said she was a skeleton when she adopted her so now she was getting weight on her. Eventually she will have to have her bottom teeth pulled. When her mom held her this little dog just hugged her with a thanks. Moral of this story: It touched my heart to see this little life get a wonderful home with love. It makes me have tears in my eyes. I wished they could change laws on puppy mills and give them the death penalty. Susan |
They are abolishing the death penalty for humans that torture and murder other humans! I do agree there needs to be stiffer penalties for animal abuse, however animals are considered chattel....cant take up jail space with animal abusers....they wont even keep people that abuse children in jail....I think they need to do at least 12 months of public service, like cleaning the highway roadsides....something that is clearly evident that these people are being punished for specifically, animal abuse, and it is visible for all to see. They should have to wear a vest that clearly indicates what they are being punished for. They can clean bathrooms at roadside rest stops....they can clean cemeteries and RV parks and beaches....there are more than enough areas that could benefit from public service and serve as punishment for animal abusers. |

Yep me too. Abuse of animals and children is where my tolerance and compassion is the thinnest. I have to consciously keep thoughts of puppy mills back in my subconscious because I am so visual and the images and movies I make in my mind make me sick in my stomach. |

My eyes swelled with tears visualizing this poor little girl's living conditions, so glad she found a loving home. There are so many puppy mills in my state. 6 weeks ago my vet took 7 yorkies and 8 yorkie mix from a puppy mill bust where 67 dogs were taken from, the dogs were distributed to various rescues. My vet thank goodness found homes for the 15 she was able to take. These ppl are disgusting and should be punished, and the public should be made aware animal abusers will be punished. |
