Does your Yorkie help you with Household Chores? 2 Attachment(s) Mine do! Mimi helping me change the sheets on the bed Attachment 409397...actually, she's playing w/the sheets LOL. Momo napping on the microfiber sheet after cleaning the floors Attachment 409398 LOL |
Awww so cute!!!!! They are BEAUTIFUL! !! |
Mine also help me!!! They love to alert me when the washer and dryer finish their cycle, by running and barking excitedly when the machine starts to chime that little song. They help me by re-arranging my throw rugs, as they think they are closer to the ground so they know the best place for the rugs to go.....they help by re-arranging their pee pads, and they will often decide food and water would be better located in the den by/in a bed, for convenient snacking while TV is on. They love to help take clothes from the dryer to the den where I sit while I fold and hang clothes, and wait deliriously for me to drop a sock or a pair of undies, etc. so they can help bring the item to the folding table....Good Lord, I adore this little busy bodies!!!! |
Ha! Ha! I love reading this helpful yorkie thread. Yes, mine love to help me with the laundry. They drag the dirty laundry all over the house so I can find it. Barney, such a doll, will even take it under the bed. I'm sure he's trying to clean it for me. Anna likes to rearrange our throw blankets. After they are nicely folded and laid across the couches, she will pull them down and arrange them to her liking. |
Duchess helps me vacuum the floor. |
Your babies are adorable helpers! :D I love when my boys make their beds like Mimi is doing in the photo. They hold the sheet or blankie in their mouths and accomplish absolutely nothing while they scratch. :p When Max was a pup, he would chase the Swiffer or the dust cloths. Drove me nuts, but I couldn't stop laughing. |
Mario does actually shut cabinet doors and the garage door when they are left open....sometimes while we are still in the garage. At least he can't lock us out :D. Other than that, he stirs up dust by running like lightning through the house...he calls that dusting the carpet. He tries to prevent me from making up the bed by fighting and biting the covers while I work....he calls that helping me relax and not worry so much about tidiness. He takes all his toys out of their storage area and leaves them all over the whole house on a daily bases.....he calls that decorating. He drips water or spills water out of his water bowl in the kitchen....he calls that pre-soaking any spots on the floor. Man, upon detailed review....Mario needs a raise!!! |
aawww! so cute XD |
SO HELPFUL!!! Little stinkin' cuties. For some reason, mine like to "create" household chores for me, rather than help w/ them...hmmm....... |
You all have such busy, busy babies---and so very helpful with chores. My house sounds a lot more like Wylie's Mom's place; I'm always crushing a treat that Piper 'forgot to bury' (usually in the bed) |

One of Bella's favorite games is to grab any socks that fall out of the drier when I am taking clothes out and run around the house with it. It is so funny, that a sock magically seems to fall out almost every time laundry gets done. |
So cute. Mine unfortunately do not help me. They like to lay on my covers while I try and make the bed |
Some of you are so lucky!!! Mine keep from doing my chores!!!! Raksha is terrified of people folding clothes. As soon as I bring a laundry basket into the living room to fold clothes she freaks out. If you try to fold she will run to 2 rooms away and jump a baby gate to get another room away. The only time she ever jumps that baby gate is when I am folding clothes. She is also scared to death of the vacuum. It makes it hard to clean the floor when she is so terrified. The other 2 just do their best to distract me when I try to clean. As soon as I start to clean the kitchen Rowan comes in there and grabs my pants at my knee and pulls me to try to get me out of the kitchen. When I pair up socks for people, Rowan and Teek play tug of war with them and unpair them. All 3 dogs lay on the piles of clean clothes on the couch and try to make them more comfy and end up ruining the piles. I wish mine would help. I would get so much more done. |

Ahhh, 'magically'!! You have many talents, Russpilot (aka: magician). That little Bella is too silly and cute! I just picture her waiting for a sock to "steal!" |
Mickey loves to help me put the car cover on. He doesn't really do anything but has to be at my feet. He supervises my grand daughter when she is cooking because there always seems to be grated cheese or lettuce on the floor. He cleans the floor very nicely. |
Oh! They do help with chores. Thank you for reminding me. They clean the kitchen floor of all scraps that resemble food. When we go visit grandma they also clean her floor and lick every inch of it to make sure it is clean. Get 3 Yorkies to work on that and she has a very clean floor in no time flat. LOL |
LOL lots of Yorkie Roombas out there...I have 2 that love o clean the floors. So bc of that, I've become an obsessive floor cleaner. Who trained who? :p Momo also helps clean the dishes, he's very thorough, glass bowls come out sparkling clean. He'll clean Mimi's, Turbo's & Princess' bowls too! |
Roxy is in charge of Socks, and Dryer sheets! She can shreed a dryer sheet in 5 seconds flat! |

Just FYI, dryer sheets can be harmful to pets, if ingested because of the chemicals. Laundry Dryer Sheets: A Danger to Pets | PetMeds Cares For some reason, many dogs and cats seem to be attracted to laundry dryer sheets which are used in the dryer to reduce static cling and add fragrance to your clothes. If your dog or cat is one who is obsessed with laundry dryer sheets, you should be aware of the potential danger these innocent-looking little sheets may pose to your pets. Laundry dryer sheets contain fragrances and chemicals to soften your clothes and reduce static electricity. These chemicals and fragrances may cause skin and respiratory irritation in your pets, and ingestion can result in serious gastrointestinal distress. Many dryer sheets contain cationic detergents, that is, surfactants with a positive ionic charge meant to neutralize static. You might even read online tips about reducing static electricity in your pet’s fur by rubbing your pet with laundry dryer sheets. However, the Merck Veterinary Manual specifically advises against exposing your pet to cationic detergents, stating that “Cationic detergents are locally corrosive agents, causing dermal, ocular, and mucosal injury similar to that of alkaline corrosive agents. Additionally, exposure to cationic detergents may result in systemic effects ranging from CNS depression to pulmonary edema.” The danger of cationic detergents is greater for cats because of the risk of ingestion during self-grooming. If you use laundry dryer sheets, be sure to store them in a secure place that your dog or cat does not have access to. |
