another update on Layla
 

Sorry I haven't been around as last couple days I've been crazy busy with Layla I thought we were on that uphill battle yesterday she was doing so well got her to finally eat boiled chicken some fruit loops chicken ground she was doing great today she doesn't want to eat again she is drinking I am back to giving her Urgent Care soft food every 4 hours giving her a Nutri Cal every 2 hours have an appointment tomorrow they're going to do more blood work to find out what's going on I have talked to the breeder she is also very worried about Layla but I'm in PA and she's in Missouri!!! I'm absolutely exhausted getting up every 2 hours and praying for answers tomorrow!!! they will be doing a ammonia test to see for liver shunt they can't do the actual liver shunt test because you need to fast for that and Layla can afford to be fasting!!

Be sure you continue to give that NutraCal every 2 hours because it works by spiking blood sugars, and then they fall again if she has not eaten. You have decided not to use the Dr.Millers so just be sure you use the Nutra Cal every 2-3 hours to keep spiking the sugar up.

What did your breeder offer to do for you as far as helping with her sick baby.

I am so sorry to hear all of what you are dealing with! I pray that your little Layla will start to feel better soon!

After we had the low sugar problem I'm so scared to use anything but nutracal, breeder has not offered me anything but what to try to feed her..I'm so frustrated all I wanted was a healthy baby!!! Lesson learned don't just buy from anybody do my homework to make sure from a good breeder!!! For the last 2 days I have been writing everything I do and what I give her and how much so I have that to take to the vets tonight!!!

I have been breeding and raising Yorkies for over 25 years, and when I tell you that Dr Millers is soooooooooooo much better than NutraCal, I know what I am talking about. You need to do what you think is right in your own mind....wishing you the very best of luck with your baby. Just remember, this is a life, not a learning experience that you can use for practice, trying this, trying that, trying this, no will try that....

I sent you a private message but I'm not sure if I did it right LOL. I in no shape or form meant to offend you or to make you think that I didn't know what you were talking about I do believe you know what you're talking about. I do realize we are talking about a life here and I am very concerned about Layla that is why I have not went anywhere for the last 5 days I am up all hours of the night with her I want her better I want her healthy and I want to know what's going on this will be the third time I'm going to the vet and I'm praying we will finally have answers tonight!!!! After her low sugar it scared the crap out of me and yes I did get the dr. Miller's but I also read that dr. Miller's sold their company to to someone else and I was worried that the stuff that I got from Amazon may not have been the stuff that you had meaning it might not work as well. I am very thankful for everyone on here given me ideas of trying to get her to feed on her own I have bought 4 different kibble for her including the one you told me about I found on Amazon and I also bought four different kinds of canned food including the one that you told me about I have also tried baby food boiled chicken ground chicken yogurt even the baby food sausages I did get cottage cheese but I did not give it to her because she already has the diarrhea and I definitely don't want to make that worse also I have read that all your puppies all of this dr. Miller's Leyla will not lick it off my finger she won't eat anything unless I opened her mouth and put it in!!! And most importantly I'm not using this as a learning experience I'm trying to get my baby to eat so she is healthy!!!
