Puppy food to help remove stains I recently purchased a Biewer of 4 months old. I love the little man. The only problem is he only wants wet food. He started to eat the Wellness brand of wet but now wants nothing to do with it. I am trying to wing him off wet to dry and have tried several brands ( 2 different wellness puppy and Nitro). He just refuses to eat. I got him with stains under his eyes and around his mouth. I read up on this issues and corrected the water and bowl as it was recommended. Vet looked at his eyes and does not think he has any tear duck issues. Any recommendations. He is 4 pounds |
Tear stains come from the inside. Exterior based products will only work as a temp cure. Angel eyes (which is a product placed in food) can help over time, which you can counteract with Angel Eyes. Puppy food will also help clear the stains- so if you can, please try Puppy Chow. Each pet is different in that they react to different products in different ways. |
I have heard raw doesn't add to the staining problems. |
Why not just give what he prefers, enjoys, and likes - the wet food...? If that's what tastes yummy to him, I'd be giving him that, as you want him to like his food. Is there a reason you want him to have kibble? And btw, kibble does nothing for the teeth, if that's why you're preferring kibble. Just like eating crunchy food does not help our teeth, neither does it do a thing for a dog's. |
