Layla was not herself this morning
 

Asking for prayers for my Layla girl I got up this morning and she was very weak I'm thinking low surgar, I'm one scared mommy, we are at the vets now, they have her in the back waiting to hear what's going on!

They kept her, we had a appointment at 1:30 today so at 1 I'm to call and see if I should come to it and then bring her home, it was low surgar uugg but the vet told me to keep Karo in house and use that instead of nurt-cal it works faster just put some on my finger and rub it on her gums!! Thank ypu all for your support!!! I'm so looking forward to go get her!!!

Prayers for Piper!!! Yes I was ready to cry and scream this morning but had to stay calm for Layla and my 5 year old daughter Amerah because she was so so upset and worried about her puppy!!

Do you free feed her or does she get scheduled meals? How old is she? I am so thankful you caught this episode before she became too ill.....I would like to suggest Dr.Millers Pet Nutra Drops instead of Karo, which has zero nutritional value at all....just gets sugar up, but if you dont feed a meal right after they get the Karo, their sugar is going to just fall again in a very short time. The NutraDrops has loads of vitamins....when we used to go on long car trips and I had a dog that got car sick, they did just fine getting nothing to eat but those NutriDrops the length of the trip! Most of time following an episode of hypoglycemia, they are sick at their tummies and do not feel like eating a meal! Dr.Millers covers that....provides more than a temp. spike in blood sugar.....they love the taste of the stuff, and I would give a dose of 1cc every 4 hours, with a dose right at bedtime, as late as possible, to get her thru the night safely.....karo wont do that, especially if she will not eat before going to bed.

Now that you have an issue with hypoglycemia, you will have to be sure your baby has food available at all times...free feed to keep this from possibly happening again. Monitor how much she is eating, very closely....they usually grow out of this, unless there is a problem....a puppy's tummy is not large enough to hold enough food to keep enough calories on board to keep that baby going at full steam, which is why it is always best to free feed babies. Supplement her diet with the Dr.Millers, and she will be covered with enough glucose to prevent hypoglycemia from reoccurring.

Keep us posted on how she is doing....drops in sugar to the point where they get symptomatic, is frightening.....you were on the spot with getting her help.....great! She will have to be watched closely....

Hello and thank you Layla is 13 weeks today but she is only 1.3lbs I will definitely be looking for dr. Miller's and have that on hand i-free feed Layla she can eat whenever she wants!! It's so strange cuz last night she finally look like she was at home enjoying everything playing running around like a lunatic and then wake up to find our like that scared that total crap out of me!!!!

Where do I get the dr. Millers. Is it a tea??

Looks like they're drops and you can buy it on Amazon: Amazon It's got great reviews. I think I'm gonna get some to have on hand too.

I have used this stuff when it was OWNED by Dr.Miller...he has since sold the company to a larger manufacturing company I think, but the quality of the product is excellent, and the dogs adore this stuff! As a matter of fact, I was dosing mine prior to a car trip to the beach, sitting on the floor, and somebody knocked my bottle over, spilling it onto the floor....I had a wild mad dash of crazed dogs scrambling to get to the puddle to lick up as much as they possibly could before I could get it cleaned up! When I drive to Paris to visit my brother, that is a 7 hour trip from Houston, and I have dogs that get car sick....they all get a dose of this stuff before we leave, and again in about 5 hours because they have not been fed...they do great on the trip, sugar levels stay where they are supposed to be and not just spiked up from a burst of simple sugar.....works super for new mommas birthing babies.........I buy this stuff by the gallon jug....ANY stressful situation calls for dosing.....I have used it for years and I love it....and it isnt that globbed up, thick, sticky, stick all in their face hair wads of NutraCal! Just be sure it is DR.MILLERS PET NUTRA DROPS.....they have some stuff on the market that was not formulated by Dr.Miller, and it is NASTY!!!!

When I have newborn babies, immediately after delivery, after I suck their little mouths out and cut the cords, they all get a dose of Dr.Millers....relieves the stress of birth, gives them a boost of sugar and vitamins, and they will immediately start rooting around looking for mommas feeding station! I even have my vet using it when she delivers babies!

I looked at the one offered on Amazon, and even tho it does not specify "Dr.Millers", this is the stuff by the contents listed!
