Something's wrong with Madlyn She was just fine, running around and playing, then I gave them all a bath and blow dried them and about a half hour later I noticed she looked drunk. She weaves when she stands still and I watched her lean into the wall for a minute, then almost fall down when she went to walk. She'll get almost catatonic like and she'll look all vacant and stare off into space and then she'll snap out of it and become perfectly normal for a few minutes, then start doing that all over again. She's eaten that I know of, (Royal canin) and she has had water. Her gums are still pink . Nose is kind of dry. Heartbeat seems ok. We couldn't find the honey so we gave her some syrup, and we had to force her to take it. I was thinking maybe hypoglycemia ? She's going on 8 months give or take now. What else could cause this? It's almost as if she's half drunk. She's laying down now. But I'm worried. here's a video of her . She wasn't actually weaving as bad in the video of course. http://youtu.be/2fo3Gf8mkQY |
She should be seen by a vet....Lynn |
update? |
I'm just guessing mind you, but I'm assuming it was a hypoglemic thing cause she seems just fine now. My roommate was here while we were gone and she said after Madlyn woke up she was fine and when we came home she was raising hell bouncing and barking like always. She seems good. I'm gonna keep a close eye on her in any case. |
That's a relief! |
That must have been a scary sight. Maybe you should keep Nutri-Cal in house for just in case. Thank goodness she's ok now. |
could she have got water in her ears and set her balance off |
That's quite possible, since I'd just bathed them all before she started acting strange |
She has that same little 'why do I feel weird' look that Piper gets if tummy upset or some such. Looking to us to make it all better---geez, tears me up! So very very very happy to hear that sweet marvelous Mady is doing well! How scary for you; hope you're doing as well as she!!! |
That's the hardest about having this little ones. When they are not feeling well and the can't tell you what is wrong. But after having pets my whole life. I've developed some techniques to kind of gauge when I need to make a vet run. For the obvious symptoms, like passing out or falling over, injury or intense pain (you can tell when the pain is intense because they cannot get comfortable for a sustained amount of time), all reasons I rush to the vet right away. I hope your little one feels okay. |
