Harness I read that Yorkies need to have a harness and not a lead is this true? I want him to be comfortable going for walks.:animal-pa |
Yes it's true. Yorkies have more delicate tracheas and if you have a puller, it could harm them. Also a well fitting quality harness such as a Buddy Belt can be used to pick up your dog in an emergency. |

I agree with Capt Noonie that harnesses are also useful for emergency pick up situations. The smaller the dog, the more I wouldn't want to risk a leash hooked up to a collar. |
I'm glad to see the name Buddy Belt mentioned. Those harnesses are amazing. They're designed so there's nothing around their neck, and the quality and the function of it as a harness is awesome. It's the only thing I'll use for my dogs. It's a great product. |

To the OP Brandon, there are UK retailers on your side of the pond, or you can order directly from BB. They ship internationally. |
Yes we LOVE our BBs here. My first I bought used on Ebay, got lucky with the size since size 3 seems to be very popular. It was a limited edition color too (well most of them are anyway) and I got the matching leash for about $40. We have three now, and the first used one is still a everyday user and it's in great condition still. It's gotten wet countless times and it's still soft. |
Harness only, I cannot tell you how many times I have had to lift my dogs up quickly using the leash. I use collars for tags only. |
I love love love my buddy belts. :) |
Another vote for the awesome Buddy Belt - they're so uber cool! And will last forever. Our YT member "Maximo" sells them. |
