Little Stinker Who was is that said it's no point in disciplining dogs after the fact because they are not going to know what you are disciplining them for (by the way discipline to me means a time out)? I say hogwash, they do remember when they've done something they weren't supposed to do even if it is hours later. Every morning my little stinker beats me downstairs to the kitchen because she knows it is breakfast time. Well this morning as I was going down the steps, Duchess wouldn't leave the bed....she wasn't sleep, she was sitting up watching me go down the steps. I really didn't think to much about it until I got in the kitchen Well you would of thought a tornado had been through it. There was trash every where. Miss Little Stinker had gotten into the trash and probably ate chicken bones that I forgot to wrap up before I threw them away. I usually put food in the garbage disposal or put it in a plastic bag an take to the trashcans outside. Last night I forgot to do that and just threw the chicken bones in the inside trashcan....big mistake. So I don't really blame her as it was my fault. I just thought it was curious that she didn't come down to the kitchen until after I had cleaned up. Now this is a yorkie that beats everyone downstairs for breakfast everyday. This one time when she didn't, there's a big mess in the kitchen????? They know, they just don' want us to to know that they know. |
She just wasn't hungry so decided to sleep in. She had a big midnight snack after all ;) and her servants hadn't had a chance to clean up yet. Little stinkers they are!:) |

I am her servant because the Duchess appeared right after I cleaned everything up. I guess she was doing inspections. |
I wish mine would wait until I wake up. They want their food at exactly 5 am and if they don't get it they are jumping on me to get up. I miss my days where I can sleep in. My dogs also know when they do something they are not supposed to even after the fact. |
Don't you love it when they jump and walk around on an overnight full bladder? I know when my baby has done something wrong -- he acts the same way. Sits back and waits. Definitely stinkers, but wonderful stinkers!:) |
Piper does that little glance at me, then turns her head and looks down, then quick glance again...All I know is that no matter what mischief Piper has done, I always end up apologizing to her!!! |
They totally know when they've done something "bad." The part I used to love is opening the door to those eyes-as-big-as-salad-bowls, ears flattened back, eyebrows all raised, tail just a zooming, head slightly cowering and the look is one of "oh my gosh I just love you SOOO much and you are SOOO amazing and did I mention how much I LOOOOVE you?" Having never experienced this in such a wee little dog it's going to be amazing when it happens. |

Cody knows hours later when he has been naughty. I wake up to ears plastered against his head, head hanging, sneaking peeks at me from the corner of his eyes lol. He can do no wrong in my eyes, but I do say uh-oh lol. It's usually only a tissue he pulls out of the box and has ripped to shreds lol. |
